Is a easy lessening. About moving past your past and learning to love. I found it really calming.

Love that is straight forward and gets to the point fast and easy. No need to waist time, grab a pencil and start right the steps. That way you can start working on minimizing the clutter in your house. I think this book will really help.

The standouts were Jennette’s sense of humor, self awareness, narrative voice, and amazing memory.

I think this story is an extremely helpful read for anyone who struggles to understand the complexities of child abuse. Jennette perfectly describes how innocent a lot of abuse can look like to a small child who lacks the context, believes whatever they’re told, and wants to trust their parents more than anything. The most messed up things can seem so natural and normal when you have no reason to distrust someone. Just because you loved your abuser and they loved you back doesn’t cancel out how much it messed you up. It doesn’t lessen the impact on the abused child’s life. This story perfectly puts you in the head of a small child just trying to understand the world around them while being abused by their parent. As a survivor of parental abuse, I felt the shell-shock that comes from being immediately transported into the mind of your younger, more innocent, and abused self.
