I started skipping 30 second intervals to speed it up half way through unfortunately. Personally I understand some of her issues but to not face them with a therapist is stupid and kind of weak IMHO. “I don’t want to talk about that” is like a slap in the face to those who want help and can’t get it. Wanting to live this blissfully ignorant life (as she put it) is unrealistic. You have someone there to help you and you’re wasting it! Not many people have that opportunity. Idk. Clearly NOT talking about things is why you feel this way in the beginning. Has no one researched how holding in shame will damage you and your relationships? Or that vulnerability isn’t always a bad thing? Ugh.

I didn’t really “like” her as you can tell and when I read I’m not looking for weak heroines. I want strong, badass women that I can emulate, relate to, or look up to. The book wasn’t horrible and the narrators are always top notch at their job. It just wasn’t the story for me I guess.

Personally, I wasn’t a fan of the extremely cheesy and downright flip flop of strong and weak personalities within each character. Who gives a giant love monologue every time they see other?! No one. They claim the heroine as strong but I found her weak and borderline whiny when it came to his job. A bruise is a bruise for Pete’s sake. He could technically get that in training. Everything was just over the top for me but if you like that sort of thing then this is definitely one you’d want to read. Maybe it was the writing in combination of how the narrator performed it. I can’t be sure but overall I’m sorry to say I won’t be reading any of her other books for now.

Another great visit to Keenston mixed with laughter, suspense, love, and all of our favorite characters. I only wish I could live there! Highly recommend Forever Bold and EVERY book in the series (along with all of Kathleen’s other books).

I just loved this one. I love all of Kathleen’s Keenston and Shadows Landing series but this one was perfect! I love it when both the main love interests are bada$$es. Especially a woman who isn’t afraid to jump in and fight.

Some of the others have had the women who are more timid and while the books are still good these heroines are my favorite.

A must read for anyone!

The epilogue from the last royal book with zero story as to how their daughter became the woman, the queen, she became. No story of how she became queen at a fairly young age (presumed) or her time being prepared for the role. Overall this could have been great and even somewhat fluffy without a lot of angst or anything but fell flat. Very disappointed.

There are many stories where we’ll love the heroine and hero’s. This one is not one. While I couldn’t put the book down because of the suspense of a murder mystery, there were soooo many times I couldn’t connect with the heroine. So many times she just barreled into her version of the investigation and clearly not understanding how lawyers wouldn’t take the evidence she thought was concrete as such. Her entire thought process was on her gut and assuming because she said it to be true it was. To me, that was beyond ridiculous and had shown how incredibly privileged she was growing up. Obviously never even watching a legal TV show or reading that type of book.
I suggest the read for the mystery of it but overall her stupidity, over trusting, yet judge mental character irked me throughout the book. Perhaps that type of emotion is what you’re looking for in a book. It certainly succeeded there.

I absolutely adore all of Kathleen’s books. I think The Forever Bluegrass series gets funnier with every new book. I have to plan out when I can read her books because I will binge read/listen until the end. Forever Devoted was no exception. Can’t wait for the next book to follow that cliff hanger.

Such a wonderful, slightly romancey, and angst filled book. I loved the real ness to Jon and how the teachers and classmates were not eager to believe he changed any. Some books tend to be set in a different world with perfectly imperfect characters but these were real. I was upset at the mother trying to continue to control and not trust either but as a parent, the fear of loss could have been a driving factor. Either way great book!

The heroine is the weakest woman I have ever heard of. Donovan was a dumbass and Sabrina just couldn't stay away. We've all read this in other books but for some reason the delivery here projected utter stupidity. Good kinky sex for the most part but no one believes that every glance from Donovan had her so wet she would be able to fill a pool. I mean good grief lady. I wouldn't waste the credit unless you're really into weak woman or want to be degraded and manipulated without being able to overcome their feelings, to be strong, and to not be overtaken every time he barely touches her or looks at her.
