Overall really good

Most of the book was worth reading and incorporating into my daily life.

My only issue is it is also laced with the unbiblical "name it and claim it" Word of Faith teachings. Having enough faith and speaking positively about something will not be what makes it happen. Things happen when they're in God's will and THAT'S what we should be praying for. Not every sick person will be healed, regardless of the level of their faith and verbal affirmations against it. Not every mortgage will be approved. Just maybe while you're claiming it, God sees the termites destroying the foundation. Sometimes God's answer is "no" for reasons we will probably never know. If we ask and pray enough for something, God may let us have our way but there may end up being consequences because of it.

Outside of that, as I originally said, the book is good and has a lot to offer. I've started noticing the things I say. I said something to my daughter for saying my 18mo granddaughter is "so crazy" for the funny things she was doing. I told her that she's a fun, energetic, toddler as she should be and as a mom, my daughter needs to speak life over her. We certainly don't want a "crazy" little girl!

I quit listening to the unbiblical statements made as facts

The book hadn't totally grasped me from the beginning but I was still working through it. I started rolling my eyes at the pre-trib stuff but still kept listening. When he reaches a point of saying the 144,000 from the tribes are evangelists as a pure fact, I gave up. Nowhere in scripture does it come close to saying anything of the sort.

Jonathan is able to line up the past with the present day in a way that will have have you audibly saying "oh WOW"!! Fantastic book!

This was a great listen on a road trip. It caught the attention of all 3 of us from age 52 down to 13. Definitely worth listening to again!

Racism is the underlying theme

I'd be wrong to not say, there's plenty of good, godly counsel in here BUT I didn't go past the beginning of chapter 4 because I was tired of hearing almost as much about racism as I was about Jesus. Does racism exist, yes it certainly does. I find the ones that are constantly talking about race are the ones consumed with peoples race, though. As a white woman that regularly attended a black church for over a year, I heard more anti- white rhetoric in that one year than I've heard anti- ANY race in my 52yrs of majority white churches. I wonder if that's why the white people leave the church when they become the minority? In my life, I've had more blatant racism focused on me by black people than I've heard any of my friends and family say against another race. I've been called names and forbidden to go places due to my sin color. My mixed kids experienced plenty of racism thrown at them... because they were part white.

Has the so called church done wrong by the black population? Absolutely. We'd be dead wrong to ignore all that KB talks about dealing with the days of slavery and yet, it comes across as picking at a scab on a wound that is trying to heal. To focus on all that was done wrong when most of today's society was not yet even born, creates an attitude towards those of today's population that they had nothing to do with.

Do we as the supposed to be body of Christ have a lot to improve on in the way we live and show Jesus to a dying world? Tragically, yes we do. I believe there will be more people in hell based off of people claiming Christ without living Him than there will be people that just simply choose not to follow Him. Maybe if I'd have kept listening I'd have heard more that would help us in changing and doing it better but my stomach couldn't handle going forward to risk finding out that wasn't the case. A brief mention of homosexuality, abortion, proper marriage and how we're to righteously approach them was given but I don't think all 3 combined equals what the beginning of the book covers about race.

I was hoping for a book that would encourage us to live more boldly for Christ, not feel I should start to think about possibly being ashamed for what white people have done.

Compelling and Convicting

This book brought so many emotions! A sense of horror at the atrocities committed combined with a stronger sense of awe at the outrageous faithfulness of God. Tears of pain at the thoughts of what these Christians went through and cheers of praise at the souls that were won. I was convicted about the times I've caught a quick attitude over some truly trivial event!! I hope this book gives courage to those facing persecution and that it causes immense gratitude in the hearts of those of us that have no personal clue of what it is to stand for Christ in the face of our own death!

A True Life Changer!!

This book was a gift from God to my walk with Him! I had no idea some of the things I was struggling with were due to a spirit of fear. Now, knowing how to combat it has given me so much excitement! My ONLY complaint, though, has to do with the narrator. When it came to the prayers that are to be repeated by the person listening, it's like he went into hyper speed. I kept having to pause it, back it up, and play again to make sure I was saying them right. I feel those areas should have been slowed down a bit to give the listener time to even realize what they were actually saying. I'm going to buy the physical book so I can do that. I've already got a few friends wanting to go thru the book also!

Beyond Inspiring

I've read Run Baby Run several times over the years, and it has impacted me since I was young. This book was inspiring, convicting and encouraging. It has me begging God to open my eyes to my full calling!! I also want to experience the fullness of who He is and who I can be because of Him!
