writing and narration are perfect for this type of love story. Also minimum word requirements for reviews are ill-conceived. they make me write irrelevant stuff like the last 2 sentences of this review

The cadence/inflection sound like it was for a children's book reading. Southern accent was cartoonish and annoying. It's hard to tell if I would have liked the story more had it been read by a different narrator

When I 1st realized that Zoe's tail would be chronicling a series of events that were covered in past books, I don't think I would like it as much as past books in the series. I was definitely wrong. Not only did I enjoy the retelling of these events from Zoe's perspective, but there were many gaps filled in that were not covered in the original story. The revelation of information not given in past books not only made for a thoroughly enjoyable story line, but also gave depth to Zoe's character, which I personally found underwhelming in past books of the series. Very nicely done! Loved this book!

I wanted to use this review to take the opportunity to give accolades to both Edward W Robertson and Tim Gerald Reynolds. Spoilers ... In the 1st 3 books Robertson developed the most perfectly vile villain, Gladdic. Reynolds narration of Gladdic's voice is a perfect compliment to the villain that Robertson has created. I hated Gladdic and could not wait until Dante and Blayz defeated him. Then Robertson did the unforgivable and made him an ally of Dante and Blayz, forcing me to tolerate and eventually, enjoy his addition to the friendly, biting banter that I had come to enjoy. Now, Reynolds condescending and snide tone, which previously contributed to my disdain for the man, made me enjoy this character in his interactions with Dante and Blayz all the more. SPOILERS, FOR REAL!!!
At the end of spear of stars when Gladdic died, I found myself hoping against hope that he was somehow still alive and would live on and continue in future books. Now that I have finished the book, it seems my hopes had been destroyed. I am left feeling traumatized, my emotions having been manipulated and twisted to Robertson's whim. Damn you Robertson, you wicked bastard!
Also... RIP Gladdic. You will be missed.

The Breed story continues to impress me with its dark look into the twisted hierarchy of the werewolf world. Doug's journey joins him (briefly) with a variety of different people who flush out a broad spectrum of his personality. I was very satisfied.
Again, I am struck by the narrator's tone that infuses kind strength with characters that I like, and also a vileness to unlikable characters. He has the sound of trustworthiness that makes this supernatural story more 'real'.

I thought this was going to be a typical werewolf story. I was pleasantly surprised when it explored experimentation and perversion of the werewolf 'breed'. Many characters were well flawed and likable. Parts of the story written from the animal's perspective was unexpected and enjoyable. The narrator punctuated the setting and character in a believable and enjoyable manner. Loved it!

The story was compelling and grizzly! Giving the monster's (aka John) perspective, made me flip between dislike and reluctantly sympathetic. The narrator was aptly chosen. He brought a rural edginess to the characters that make the story more genuine. Loved it!

The story does not lose steam in its 3rd book. The 'odd couple' relationship between Christian and Fish continues to deliver humor as it explores the depth of human relationship during adversity.

I read IT in college and loved it. Creepy, weird and thoughtful. I decided too give it a listen before setting the movie. I'm glad I did! The narrator, Steven Webber was amazing! I wasn't sure if I would find it as creepy as I did when I 1st read it, Knowing the story. Mr. Webber's voice of the clown alone was worth the listen! I was truly creeped out! Also, the distinction between voices was appropriate for the characters. Even the subtle variations between female characters (not common In my experience for male narrators) Be the nice flavor to the story and made it easier to listen to you. I love the way that Stephen King tells a Story! It is no exception! Well worth a listen!
