Historia
MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan isn’t one to avoid arguments. He relishes them as the lifeblood of democracy and the only surefire way to establish the truth. Arguments help us solve problems, uncover new ideas we might not have considered, and nudge our disagreements toward mutual understanding. A good argument, made in good faith, has intrinsic value—and can also simply be fun.

Winning?
Revisado: 05-22-23
Hasan does an excellent job teaching the psychology of winning a debate. He has learned human nature as well as how to not only use logic, but human emotion when logic is lacking.
If winning a debate is the objective and not finding truth, this is an excellent book. It teaches how to overcome and over power your opponent.
I would recommend this book but stay humble….it is about truth, not winning a debate. You may be wrong every once in awhile.

How should parents raise children, and how should schools educate children? Why are we attracted to things that are forbidden? What is time? How can we understand God, or the nature of evil? What is true friendship? To answer these questions, Professors Cook and Herzman look to the Confessions of St. Augustine of Hippo.

Authorities not Inspired
Revisado: 06-20-22
The dual instructors was refreshing. Both had opinions and both did a great dialogue and expressing them. The lectures were split up well so one could follow Augustines life.
Listening to the lectures made me very aware that a lot of what we may think is infallible truth is actually a belief system we’ve come to learn.
The lectures are a great opportunity to examine our own beliefs and to give liberty to those that exam in the Bible through a more literal reading.
There are a few words the professors use that can possibly lead want to believe that Augustine had the correct interpretation all the time.
Two of the biggest takeaways is that the only Augustinian writings used in most higher academics are those before his conversion. The second is that though the professors and Augustine differ and interpretation in places they understand that there is only one infallible truth.
I would recommend this book for any Christian historian to understand that modern Christian belief has swayed from the early church apostles.

Aristotle wrote on everything from the shape of seashells to sterility, from speculations on the nature of the soul to meteorology, poetry, art, and even the interpretation of dreams. Apart from mathematics, he transformed every field of knowledge that he touched. Above all, Aristotle is credited with the founding of logic. When he first divided human knowledge into separate categories, he enabled our understanding of the world to develop in a systematic fashion.

I like short informative books to tell me just the facts, which this book accomplishes. It is interesting how the Christian faith went from a Spiritual view to a philosophical view so early.

Historia
Today’s right-wing Evangelical Christianity stands as the very antithesis of the message of Jesus Christ. In his new book, Christians Against Christianity, best-selling author and religious scholar Obery M. Hendricks Jr. challenges right-wing evangelicals on the terrain of their own religious claims, exposing the falsehoods, contradictions, and misuses of the Bible that are embedded in their rabid homophobia, their poorly veiled racism and demonizing of immigrants and Muslims, and their ungodly alliance with big business against the interests of American workers.

Same As Right Only Left
Revisado: 07-25-21
I listen to this book to try to find more unity between the far left and far right. The passion of the author comes out as he demonizes all those who believe in capitalism and democracy. His strong belief in Socialism over- rides and blinds his eyes to the corruptions of the very thing he praises.
He does an excellent job revealing the non-Christian views of the professing evangelicals concerning politics. He then does the very same thing and cherry picks verses to support a political Jesus which never existed.
I would only recommend this book for those who are not on the far left or the far right as a learning tool to see how a man with such a vast biblical background can be swayed by the enemy and be judged as he has judged others he disagrees with.
The book is very informative and goes very in-depth concerning his belief that Jesus wants men to have their own dignity instead of being crucified with Christ.
In a word of caution this book can cause more division in the body of Christ.

I would say I just as Russel believed in his faith, I believe in mind. The Christian Point of View in listening to this in its entirety, is an incitement to Western secular christianity.
Russell turned to Islam because he saw a secular Christianity. His heart was wanting something that was real that could change his life, and he found that in jihad.
Russell’s own confession was that he was raised in a so-called Christian home with his mother, being Catholic. He also knew the side of a God without Jesus Christ because his father was a secular Jew.
Russell was never introduced to a practicing Christian who walked in holiness, who is changed by the power of God through the Holy Spirit.
This is a great listen for any Christian who has a desire to win the loss for Jesus Christ. A Christian who wants to lead by the example of Christ walking in holiness and sanctification.
Russell‘s final words we’re for the protection of his wife and children that they could not find in Islam. Russell searched the world trying to find peace and did not find it. He came from America where are the gospel of peace can be freely given in the streets, in the market place and in private. It seems to me that Russell’s blood is up on the hands of the American Christian.

Historia
Much of what we see expressed in the church today is built on more than just the New Testament. It's built, instead, mostly on the Old Testament, church culture, and Paganism. It is therefore imperative that we as God's people dare to stop and take a closer look at the church today and compare it to the first church we read about in the Bible. If we are to succeed in making disciples of all nations, then we must go back to the "template" we find in the Bible. Let the reformation begin!

Church is in Trouble
Revisado: 05-27-21
I would agree with 90% of what is said. In a few places I saw a speculation taught as a truth, yet even in that the zeal of promoting the gospel of Jesus Christ was the underlying drive.
No one is exactly the same pertaining to their thought process for evangelism, but the key take away is we need to evangelize.
The church in America is far from the roots set forth by Jesus and the early disciples. This book brings insight into those that do not know church history, and challenges those that have a desire to see people saved and set free.
I would recommend this book to all those that profess a belief in Jesus Christ.

Living a Life of Fire, by Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, is the amazing life story of one of the world's most successful promoters of the Christian message. Bonnke's name is known around the world - from Taiwan to Timbuktu, from Cape Town to Calgary - and is synonymous with gigantic gospel campaigns in Africa, where not just thousands or tens of thousands, but hundreds of thousands of people are won to Christ - in a single meeting.

Faith Building
Revisado: 12-23-20
Bonnke, coming from a very humble background and being very obedient to his father gives a great testimony of how he was trained in real life to hear the voice of the Lord.
The book is not only full of faith, but a man’s journey in his Christian calling. Bonnke has no problem testifying of where his strength and faith come from.
This book is full of wisdom concerning how to treat other sinners and saints alike. Bonnke, being a very educated man, leaves theological debate aside to believe in faith what God’s Word says and through obedience has seen Africa changed.
This is a great read for any Christian who wants to know God’s heart concerning the lost and hurting. It is a great read for the intellectual to learn the simplicity of the Gospel, and it is a great read for the skeptical to contend with their skepticism.

Historia
From the Azusa Street Revival, which began in 1906, a movement has grown to bring more people to Jesus than any other movement in history. While secularism continues to be on the rise in today's society, many areas of the world still experience church growth, thanks to Pentecostal-Charismatic Christians. But the Pentecostal-Charismatic church is also plagued with sexual immorality, financial corruption, doctrinal error, personal flakiness, spiritual gullibility, prophetic abuse, and more. In many ways the state of the church today is not too different from how it was long ago.

Playing with Fire is Serious
Revisado: 11-26-20
Michael Brown has written a great book concerning the abuse of God's anointing. He has diplomatically stated, and gave apology for the abuse directed to those that use the abuse to deny the working and ministry of Holy Spirit.
Memorable parts are all those that refer to the reason God has poured out His Spirit, that is for Him to be glorified through the Son, who sent Holy Spirit.
As a personal acquaintance of Brown, I can attest to to the humility, yet boldness in this book. I can attest to his academics and most of all to his loyalty to the Word of God.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is questioning the gifts of the Spirit as well as those believing they are no longer in use.
I would like to finally add the caution to those who are on the John Mcarthur side of the spectrum and to those abusing the gifts of Holy Spirit, to read/listen with humility as blaspheme of Holy Spirit is serious and eternity is at stake.

We all have doubts that challenge our faith. We wonder whether the Bible still matters, or whether God is truly as loving and personal as we hope. In his first ever devotional, The Logic of God, apologist Ravi Zacharias offers 52 entries that explain how and why Christianity, the Bible, and God are still relevant, vital, and life-changing for us today. To all our dilemmas, Ravi says, "I am convinced that Jesus Christ alone uniquely answers the deepest questions of our hearts and minds."

Ravish does a great job speaking to the intellectual, but can leave the less educated behind. His apologetics are good in reasoning, but admits other religions have apologetics, yet the Christian faith is set apart.

Revisado: 05-21-20
Over all this book accomplishes what it was set to do to teach critical care and emergency setting. The testings at the end of each chapter is very beneficial to know where review is needed. The dialog is well articulated and the speaker has great knowledge of the subject. I would recommend this book for anyone needing review and extra learning on the subject of critical care in the emergency setting.
