Historia
Outsider. Hero. Rogue. If any man can do the impossible it’s Richard Sharpe. And the impossible is exactly what the formidable Captain Sharpe is asked to do when he’s sent on an undercover mission to a small village in the Spanish countryside, far behind enemy lines. For the quiet, remote village, sitting high above the Almaraz bridge, is about to become the center of a battle for the future of Europe. Two French armies march towards the bridge, one from the North and one from the South. If they meet, the British are lost.

I did not think this book was up to the usual standards of Benard Cornwell’s writing.

Great history, but Main Character has holes
Revisado: 01-16-23
I wanted to love this book. But the author just didn’t know how to devise plot problems that lead towards character development. She needed an editor who had experience with new writers. The story jumped when a plot needed to progress and the character had to act against his nature.

I have exactly 5 hours and 10 minutes to get from Boston to New York City or the professional opportunity of a lifetime disappears. My only travel option? The second to last seat on a discount bus. Across from the bathroom. Wearing last night’s clothes (don’t ask). All worth it if I can make it in time.

There’s not much to say except the story was not real. Good plot lines however. The voice acting was distracting. I won’t pick up the rest of the series

Was one of my favorite stories 50 years ago.
Revisado: 06-12-22
I lived in Denver where there is a big house everyone knew that was called Shangri-la. And my whole family loved the Robert Colman movie. This audio book is very faithful to the written book but presents a different viewpoint from the movie. That’s fine, but this story presents a story that is dryer and quietly dark. The recording was performed for blind people and therefore is not read by a voice actor. It’s very good but you have to listen to it without any preconceived ideas about the characters.
