Sonali Dev captures the Indian in America experience.
Revisado: 11-13-24
I'm a big fan of Sonali Dev. Her stories with characters grounded in the Indian culture are charming and authentic. The narrator really captures the essence and emotion necessary to convey a story steeped in India via America.

Historia
Once upon a time, in a parallel universe, there existed the continent of Triton.... The land was filled with beauty, but it was also splintered by war. Out of the chaos grew a conspiracy to reawaken the Beast, a fearsome creature who wrought only tragedy and devastation. The only way to stop him was to fulfill an ancient prophecy: Triton’s four strongest warriors must wed its four most powerful witches, binding all nations together and finally bringing peace to the land.

Another triumph from Kristen Ashley!!

I really loved the characters in this book! One of the best features is the title headings are luxury brand names. I felt submerged in the world of opulent living with fabulous people..I was truly living vicariously! Kristen Ashley's novels are so addicting I can't stop listening until the end of the book! This installment of her River Rain series was no exception...I'm tempted to start at the beginning book of the series and read them all again....

She finds a cozy cabin at the side of a tranquil lake in the quaint town of Misted Pines in the Pacific Northwest. The minute she arrives, she knows it’s perfect. The very night of her arrival, however, someone—or something—is scratching at her window. The next morning, she meets her one and only neighbor, Doc Riggs. He’s a rough, good-time guy who rubs Nadia wrong immediately. They clash, and neither of them are happy to be sharing their lake.

Loved the story...the male narrator, not so much.
Revisado: 06-13-24
Kristen Ashley is my favorite author, so her stories are super stars. This story is an interesting mystery with very cool characters. My only complaint is with the overly dramatic make narrator. I thought his delivery was melodramatic. This is not awful just distracting.

Historia
Rachel Armstrong has a burning need to right the world’s wrongs. Thus, she becomes the Avenging Angel. And maybe she’s a bit too cocky about it. While riding a hunch about the identity of a kidnapper, she runs into Julien “Cap” Jackson, who was trained by the team at Nightingale Investigations in Denver. Now he’s a full-fledged member at their newly opened Phoenix branch. It takes Cap a beat to realize Raye’s the woman for him. It takes Raye a little longer (but just a little) to figure out how she feels about Cap.

Rock Chicks, Part 2!
Revisado: 04-16-24
What a fun book! This new phase of the Rock Chick / Hot Bunch saga is just as fun as ever! It isn't mandatory to have read all of the various series written by Kristen Ashley, however the story is definitely enhanced by familiarity with the large contingent of ancillary characters. I find her books difficult to put down...which is a testament to her craft as an author.

Historia
Jenna’s parents had finally given in, and there she was, at a New York club with her best friends, watching the legendary band Avenue A, carrying her demo in hopes of slipping it to the guitarist, Jake Kincade. Then, from the stage, Jake catches her eye, and smiles. It’s the best night of her life. It’s the last night of her life. Minutes later, Jake’s in the alley getting some fresh air, and the girl from the dance floor comes stumbling out, sick and confused and deathly pale. He tries to help, but it’s no use. He doesn’t know that someone in the crowd has jabbed her with a needle.

Historia
Heiress Daphne Ryan is uncertain about spending a week at the sprawling country estate of the family of her sister’s boyfriend. For starters, she doesn’t get along with her sister. Then there’s the fact his family is old, wealthy aristocracy, and Daphne’s from brash, new American money. Mostly, it’s that everyone knows Duncroft House is haunted by the ghost of a 1920s film star who died there. Deemed an accident, for nearly a century, people are sure it was murder.

Great book, on so many levels...
Revisado: 11-14-23
First off...I'm a HUGE Kristen Ashley fan. One of the most interesting aspects of her writing gift is her ability to move through many different genre. This time it's a mystery. While "romance" is always a part of the mix, there is also layers of story and context that has that romance shine. This book is no exception. The characters serve to illuminate a story rich in history and suspense. The setting is a castle in England. As a stand alone novel it does a fantastic job of answering every question on the fate of each character and bringing the story to a satisfying conclusion. This would be a great book for a fabulous winter's day in front of the fire or a glorious summer's day at the beach...or any day in-between, Like a terrific meal at a favorite restaurant, Kristen Ashley always satisfies.

This installment of the River Rain series is awesome as I expected it to be. A new Kristen Ashley book always comes with the understanding that I will be a slave to Audible until 'the end". I love these characters. Each time I think I would love to start the entire series again to just savor the characters and experience again the progression of the story. I'm always so impressed with how Kristen can invent so many variations of stories and themes. I could live my entire life reading (listening to) Kristen Ashley books..they are all that good!!!'

Historia
May 1912. After the previous year’s deadly heatwave, it’s been an uneventful spring in Littleton Cotterell. Though for Lady Hardcastle and her fiercely loyal lady’s maid Flo, at least there are the provincial delights of the village’s inaugural art exhibition—and bicycle race—to look forward to. But at the exhibition opening, there’s a panicked shout of ‘Fire!’ In the confusion, the main attraction—an extremely expensive book—is stolen from under everyone’s nose, as is a valuable painting lent by Sir Hector Farley-Stroud.

Molly Harper and her narrator Amanda Ronconi are just the combo I need when I want a fun "pick me up". Molly's novels are charming para-normal romps that are smiles waiting to happen. If you're looking for that little escape into small town life, where the denizens are witches or shifters or vampires...but only the nice kind, well Molly Harper is your author!!!!!...Her audio renditions are always on my pre-order list! 5 stars all around!!!
