I would genuinely listen to this book again. The plot line was very good and the ending was so fitting. Sylvia is otherworldly... and not in a good way. I'm really happy everyone got their happy ending. Loved it!

Historia
Is it possible to write a sidesplitting novel about the breakup of the perfect marriage? If the writer is Nora Ephron, the answer is a resounding yes. For in this inspired confection of adultery, revenge, group therapy, and pot roast, the creator of Sleepless in Seattle reminds us that comedy depends on anguish as surely as a proper gravy depends on flour and butter.

Historia
Workaholic attorney Samantha Sweeting has just done the unthinkable. She's made a mistake so huge, it'll wreck any chance of a partnership. Going into utter meltdown, she walks out of her London office, gets on a train, and ends up in the middle of nowhere. Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house, she's mistaken for an interviewee and finds herself being offered a job as housekeeper. Her employers have no idea they've hired a lawyer, and Samantha has no idea how to work the oven. She can't sew on a button, bake a potato, or get the #@%# ironing board to open.

hmmm, i'm starting to become a fan of Sophie Kinsella. but this isn't one of her better books. it was a good listen, yes. but it just lacked something for me. i'm really happy Samantha realized that rest and relaxation is more sacred than the constant hustle and bustle, because the push and pull was getting quite annoying. good book though. wouldn't necessarily recommend or listen again.

LOVED IT
Revisado: 05-20-22
this was so deliciously good. made especially so by the narrator; his voice was epic. i think i should dive more into Sandra Brown novels. she's so good! the plot was uber interesting and engaging, and the sex was hot and heavy. it's just something about a woman writing male characters that makes my mouth water and my brain orgasm.
but, about the actual story: Jenks was a total surprise but i was actually happy for that. Hank was hugely... unexpected. the telling/narration of the plot was easy to navigate and understand and i love that. Carson better go actually get his law degree, lol.
loved all the characters. very captivating book.
i would definitely listen again, if only for the build-up of the smoldering sex.

this is one of the rawest books i've listened to in a while. Colleen Hoover knows EXACTLY how to pull at my heart strings every single time.
i'm not sure why, but i was rooting for Kenna from the very beginning. i'm so glad she got her happy ending. she deserved it... which is questionable, but i think it's what Scotty would have wanted (which is evidenced by the pigeon). this was a lovely listen. i'm gonna listen to the playlist now.

AMAZING!
Revisado: 05-11-22
this was such a good (calm & refreshing if i'm allowed to say so) listen after The Song of Achilles. i'm happy that i read The Song of Achilles first too because Circe spoke on it and i would've been so clueless. i hated how they treated my girl. she didn't deserve that. but she grew from the pain and that's what we love to see. i see myself in her because she did still remain soft and pliable while still being cautious. but she also knew enough and learnt enough to start standing up for herself and not let anyone break her. love that for my girl. this was a very good read that didn't take me very long to finish it was so good. would definitely recommend.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

i will listen to this book again. especially chapters 8 & 9. it was such a super cool book with interesting perspectives on life. very fucking blunt. and also very raunchy, lmao - i don't think i have seen/heard the word fuck in a book so many times. it sorta forces you to rethink certain actions and prompts you somehwat to take responsibilty for them.

this was a very good lighthearted read. i loved the girl power and comradeship at the end considering where they were coming from. also, crazy how she literally manifested a friendship with Demeter. i find that crazy cool. i would listen again.
