Historia
Most people think the way to write a best seller is to have a lot of talent and even more luck. As you will learn, there is a recipe for success, and luck may be the least important ingredient in creating a best seller. No one has cracked the code better than James Scott Bell. A best-selling author himself, and the author of the number-one best seller for writers, Plot & Structure, Mr. Bell has been teaching the principles of best-selling fiction for over 20 years, principles that apply to any genre or style.

The Aspiring Fiction Writer’s Bible
Revisado: 03-10-25
James Scott Bell has not only taught me how to write — he has transformed the way I see storytelling and the writing life itself. I have learned more from him than from any other teacher, course, or book combined. His kind, approachable voice makes you feel as though you’re sitting down with a trusted friend who genuinely wants to see you succeed.
What sets James apart is his rare ability to take complex ideas and make them clear, actionable, and inspiring. His wisdom is practical, but it’s also deeply motivating. Every chapter feels like a personal conversation, filled with insights that make you want to leap up and start writing immediately.
I have walked away from this book not just with tools and strategies — but with the confidence and belief that I can actually do this. That I can write stories that matter. James Scott Bell has given me a roadmap to creating compelling fiction, but more importantly, he has given me hope.
I’m profoundly grateful to James for the generosity, care, and brilliance he pours into his teaching.
Thank you, James Scott Bell. You have changed my writing life.

Too many repetitive AI generated phrases to appreciate any of the content. For instance, every third bullet point starts with “I’m not just talking about… “which is followed by two more bullet points before the next “in-depth” chapter. You left out the most important part. The human.

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

Full of twists and turns, great story!
Revisado: 10-10-22
I really enjoyed the story, but even more the narrator, Harriet Gordon-Anderson. She flipped back and forth between a Scottish and an Australian accent flawlessly. I was staining a fence while listening and the time just flew! Thanks!

Changed forever by this book
Revisado: 09-12-22
Caution: This stories in this book are very difficult to hear but they make you realize that if people who have been through things this horrific can heal, so can you. This author gives step by step instructions to healing your painful past along with the success stories of others who have. The narrator is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! You'll see why. The guy reads with the most feeling of any I've ever heard. Kudos to you both for such a great experience that I will never forget. This is the first book that actually produced results for me. Thank you so very much! I highly recommend this book to anyone with unresolved trauma, big or small.

Beware animal lovers
Revisado: 05-12-22
I had invested a couple of hours in the story when I got to chapter 4 or five that discussed his visit to a slaughterhouse and pigs squealing in pain and fear. Is this really necessary? I’m sorry but I don’t believe animal cruelty has any place in a book that is supposed to be entertaining. Unfortunately, animal slaughter is still a way of life in this country. But do we have to hear the heartbreaking details? I’m out.

Life changing!
Revisado: 11-16-21
This is, hands-down, the best book I’ve ever read on organization. I finally understand why I do the things I do and don’t do. And I have the same organizing style as the author, a ladybug, and I’m married to a cricket like she is, so it was fun to follow her personal stories. Her stories are my stories!
Thank you, thank you and thank you again.
You have truly changed my life with this book.

Listen carefully, I still don't get the ending
Revisado: 10-08-21
I am listening for the second time because I didn't get the ending either. But, for not understanding the end, what a great listen this is for a short story! You don't need to really understand the last line to fully understand the story though. I loved it anyway!
What an unexpected twist at the end! Didn't see that one coming. Enjoy!

Too many mispronunciations to thoroughly enjoy
Revisado: 03-31-20
I loved and benefitted from the content of the books even though I worried that the "365 days" format would drive me crazy and would feel more like 365 common-sense platitudes. Not the case. Each day is chock full of great advice and exercises that are completely doable. I feel confident that every area of my life will be enhanced and improved by what I learned in these books.
The narrator, John Gagnepain has such a nice, soothing tone of voice but does not pronounce his "ing's" on the ends of the many words ending with ing. For instance, "human bean" instead of being, or "that is what I am sane" instead of saying. It was too much for me and I found most every sentence irritated me. I hope he improves on this, his voice is beautiful otherwise and some of us are sticklers for pronunciation.
