David Gatward's stories are so very descriptive. Gordy's feelings are so true for anyone having muddled through with loss and trauma. This is one for repeated readings and listening.

Historia
Following a convention in the Scottish Highlands, eight social media influencers vanish without a trace, leaving their followers–and families–in a state of shock, and the police clueless as to their whereabouts. And then, the livestreams begin. Broadcast live from their squalid underground cells, the young influencers are forced into a sadistic battle for survival. With each livestream, their captor pits them against each other in a twisted competition for likes. The influencer with the fewest positive reactions faces a gruesome end–live on camera.

Worth the wait !
Revisado: 01-11-25
Eagerly awaited ! When JD Kirk and Angus King release a new book, I have to listen at least twice. A Killer of Influence is not a story I could pause. There was no sleeping until the end. Just to hear Kirk ard King, I started the DCI Jack Logan series books and Audible all over again. ( A footnoe, Angus King's narrations, have led me to buy other series I had skipped over.)

Historia
John Connolly takes battered ex-cop Charlie Parker on his third outing after Every Dead Thing and Dark Hollow. Still struggling with the horrific ghosts of his past, Parker is now a disillusioned private eye hired to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Grace Peltier - which neither her father nor a former US senator believes was suicide. The trail leads to a mass grave in Northern Maine where a Baptist community disappeared 40 years earlier.

Worst narrator I have ever heard. Doesn't even know how to pronounce common names of people, places or even a birch tree. Worse, he hasn't bothered to research the pronunciation. His delivery is so nauseating, I stopped listening and went back to reading the book I had bought first. I would have given performance a negative star but at least he didn't sneeze onto his microphone.

Fifty years later, Agent Pendergast takes on a bizarre and gruesome case: in the ghost-haunted city of Savannah, Georgia, bodies are found with no blood left in their veins—sowing panic and reviving whispered tales of the infamous Savannah Vampire.

IMHO wrong narrator.
Revisado: 09-14-21
Narrator sometimes spoke so softly I had to hold the speaker to my ear & listen 2 or 3 times to the same passage..ruins continuity of story. His voices for Agent Pendergast and Constance were so far off the mark for Southern, I would have to stop listening. But, Preston and Child have a wonderful story. I will buy the book to read.

Joe Kenda investigated 387 murder cases during his 23 years with the Colorado Springs Police Department and solved almost all of them. And he is ready to detail the cases that are too gruesome to air on television, cases that still haunt him, and the few cases where the killer got away. These cases are horrifyingly real, and the detail is so mesmerizing you won't be able to turn it off.

Historia
After an overhaul of leadership at the FBI's New York field office, A. X. L. Pendergast is abruptly forced to accept an unthinkable condition of continued employment: the famously rogue agent must now work with a partner. Pendergast and his new teammate, junior agent Coldmoon, are assigned to Miami Beach, where a rash of killings by a bloodthirsty psychopath are distinguished by a confounding M.O.: cutting out the hearts of his victims and leaving them - along with cryptic handwritten letters - at local gravestones, unconnected save in one bizarre way.
