A moving Love story, only slightly hindered by the AI voice.
Revisado: 12-21-24
A long detailed story that never gets boring, building every character with precision. The love felt genuine and the ending was moving, a great listen ✌🏻

Historia
Matthew Prince is young, rich, and thoroughly spoiled. So what if his parents barely remember he exists and the press is totally obsessed with him? He's on top of the world. But one major PR misstep later, he's cut off and shipped away to spend the holidays in his grandparents' charming small-town hellscape. Population: who cares? It's bad enough that he's stuck in some festive winter wonderland—it's even worse that he has to share space with Hector Martinez, an obnoxiously attractive local who's unimpressed with anything and everything Matthew does.

Revisado: 07-16-24
fun until it wasn't, then it became a barrage of virtue signals with no plot. it's just pretty standard woke signaling like most LGBTQ+ books these days.

Now Ollie is one prince short of his fairy-tale ending, and to complicate the fairy tale further, a family emergency sees Ollie uprooted and enrolled at a new school across the country. Which he minds a little less when he realizes it’s the same school Will goes to...except Ollie finds that the sweet, comfortably queer guy he knew from summer isn’t the same one attending Collinswood High.

Way better than I had expected!
Revisado: 07-08-24
I was happily surprised by this book. Didn't expect how naturally funny it was, with the wit being far and above most other recent LGB stories. There was a few moments that sort of knocked some of the shine off by highlighting the clear political bias that the author holds, but aside from that, it was a fun listen, with really good narration. I think Mark Sanderlin has definitely gotten his groove with this one, with clear characters, and solid emotions. The story is a little generic plot wise, but nothing wrong with that, there's comfort in listening to stories with similar plots, like being a fan of isekai anime, etc. Highly recommend

Nineteen-year-old Sir Harry de Lyon yearns to prove himself and jumps at the chance when a powerful English baron, William Montagu, invites him on a secret mission with a dozen elite knights. They ride north, to a crumbling Scottish keep, capturing a feral, half-starved boy within and putting the other inhabitants to the sword. But nobody knows why the flower of English knighthood snuck over the border to capture a savage, dirty teenage boy. Montagu gives the boy to Harry as his squire, with only two rules.

A fantastic gay historical fiction, with great narration!
Revisado: 03-18-24
This book has a lot of ups and downs but it wraps up nicely. its a real breath of fresh air in the gay romantic space, not letting itself get dragged down with stupid criteria check marks that a lot of publishers seem to mandate in all gay books nowadays. just a great story with a great romance, funny and charming. loved it, and the narrator was really good too, will have to keep an eye out for more of his work.

DEI approved story.
Revisado: 03-03-24
I imagine when the writer sat down to write this, he had a list of about 50 or so things to include in order for their book to be published, per the DEI requirements publishers command now days. That or this is the first book he wrote straight out of Berkeley.
So much wrong with this book I don't even know where to begin, an unbelievable 'bad boy' to start, who ended up just being a cliche gay personality. Not worth $17 or 1 credit. I couldn't even finish it.

Great narration, the story though was middling at best.
Revisado: 11-30-23
The narration was very well done, but plot was predictable, painful at times even. It's kinda like the writer decided to make the MC a 60 IQ Sherlock Holmes. The characters logic or lack there of, doesn't ever make sense, if there's a way to make the wrong decision, the MC finds it, and only gets out of any predicament by luck.
I did finish and it was okay overall, definitely listened to worse.

Historia
Charlie Renfrew is too busy and too broke for a love life. There's no room in a schedule crammed with university, a full-time job, music, and his very committed relationship with overthinking. Hence the dating ban. Which is exactly when Ben Campbell shows up with his piercings, quirky knits, and indie rock fame. But maybe it's time for Charlie to trade caffeine for something hotter, blonder, and completely out of his comfort zone. Gorgeous, funny men don't happen to Charlie. Not like this. Even if it's ill-timed and too bloody complicated. But maybe a quick shag won't hurt . . .

Revisado: 09-06-23
The narrator isn't bad, but he's very monotone, so not anything to keep you in the story really. numerous times I found myself lost on what's going on because I stopped paying attention to the story. He only puts a slight inflection in the voices to even descent there's a difference between the characters.

MC is unlikeable in any world
Revisado: 08-26-23
Same boring tropes used in every liberal gay book. MC is unlikeable and selfish, Makes every wrong decision he can to keep the book nice and long, surrounded by people who know how to guide his life better than he does and yet he still fails constantly. It felt like the ending was rushed but predictable anyway. Michael Crouch does his usual great voice work, unfortunately the story was lacking.

Historia
This is a story about two teens falling in love over a summer that throws everything possible to keep them apart. Max: Chill. Sports. Gay and not a big deal. And a secret: An encounter with an older kid that makes it hard to breathe, one that he doesn't want to think about, ever. Jordan: The opposite of chill. Poetry. His "wives" and the Chandler Mall. Never been kissed and searching for Mr. Right, who probably won't like him anyway. And a secret: A spiraling out of control mother, and the knowledge that he's the only one who can keep the family from falling apart.

Revisado: 07-13-23
Original feeling story, nice pacing, great main Characters, good humor, lots of small details that makes it just feel real. BUT, the narration was difficult to get through. Joel sounds like he's talking with a wad of toilet paper stuffed in his cheeks. it's the worst, and it's not just this book, he's ruined many others as well. Anthony's audio quality could have been better, very low quality recording, but his work is way better. Sucks when good stories are ruined by people who continually get the job to record the voice because they've won awards for narration likely just because of equity instead of talent.
