I loved this book and loved learning more about the journey of the Jewish people and how this book points out how Bible came true through history after the Holocaust. Author did a wonderful job weaving this story together. Highly recommend.

Would you listen to Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine again? Why?
Even though this book explored a very dark past and gave you reasons for why Eleanor was the way she was, it was honest and funny and hopeful.
It was about moving forward and putting the past behind you.
I loved it!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Eleanor! She was honest about who she was.
Have you listened to any of Cathleen McCarron’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I plan to.
If you could take any character from Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine out to dinner, who would it be and why?

You will like this book!
Revisado: 03-06-16
If you could sum up Try Not to Breathe in three words, what would they be?
Kept me interested, good diversions from the main story with character's issues and it kept me guessing. I bounced around with who I thought was the bad guy! I really liked the ending except for the victim's demise. Wished something better for her. Narration was really good!
What did you like best about this story?
It was different in that the victim was trapped in her body and you knew what she was thinking.
Have you listened to any of Elizabeth Knowelden and Katharine McEwan ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
never listened to any others.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not extreme, just felt bad for the main character with her alcohol addiction and all her emotional pain.
Any additional comments?
I just thought it was a good story. I will look for more of her books.

I hated Lucy and I couldn't help it!
Revisado: 02-10-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it was such an interesting story and I know there was a true story that was very similar to it. The feelings of each character is what kept me interested. The way the real mother handled her pain and even how she forgave once she found the truth. Also, the daughter's feelings were very interesting to me. I still hate Lucy and I hate how she justified what she did. I think she is a sociopath and she could never justify enough for what she did.
What did you like best about this story?
I honestly did not like what this book was about because it was so painful to imagine but I wanted to find out how it got resolved and so I continued to listen. The narrators were excellent.
Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Each narrator performed wonderfully. I love each of these narrators, Love Julia Whelan and Cassandra Campbell.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
She lived a lie and loved the enemy.
Any additional comments?
I hate Lucy, I hate her and she can never no matter how hard the author tries get me to feel sorry for her. She is a sociopath who is selfish and I do not think Mia should have given her a second chance. Once Mia has her first child, she will finally "get it".

Kept me interested!
Revisado: 02-10-16
Would you listen to Pretty Baby again? Why?
I might. It was great to listen to the narrators, Cassandra Campbell is one of my fav's.
I might just to pick up a little more that I didn't first time around.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Pretty Baby?
I think it would be when the main character (the mom) flipped out. I wasn't expecting that. She seemed to be the one that had it all together and then she didn't. I guess that is true to life too!
Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?
I think it was the girl who had been so abused and mistreated. She was the victim and she made it through her ordeal. I was so glad that she had a perspective that was survival mode.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
She just wanted to protect her sister.
Any additional comments?
I think that this book was something that could happen. At first I thought it was a little out there, but the more I thought about it, it was something that could happen. People have pain and they do weird things to make it go away.

Not near as good as the Me Before You
Revisado: 10-28-15
Would you try another book from Jojo Moyes and/or Anna Acton?
Yes, but we all got spoiled with Me Before You and Susan Lyons
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
It was closure but I didn't like this book near as much as the first...it was like a family reunion or something and everyone is happy now or something like that...I just didn't love it.
Did Anna Acton do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
I can't remember.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Maybe
Any additional comments?
I didn't know what to expect or where Ms. Moyes would go with this novel and I am not saying it was terrible, just wasn't what I expected. Also, if you got used to Susan Lyons as the narrator, it bothered me that they switched to Anna Acton...that messed things up even though Anna Acton is a good narrator. I think the thing that I didn't like about the book was Louisa's role this time. She was too blah-say and I didn't care for her nearly as much as before....and the author changed other peoples personalities I guess to make it interesting but I didn't like that. People don't really change all that much...and the old boyfriend and his role, I hated that part. Honestly I guess I really didn't like this book very much at all and I loved loved loved the first one. :(

Great book, great narration
Revisado: 10-28-15
Would you listen to The Midwife's Revolt again? Why?
Yes, because the writing is poetic and the narrator is excellent. I have listened to it again!
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the suspense of it and the reality of how hard things were for them as well as the friendships that were formed based on trust
Which scene was your favorite?
The friendship between Abigail and Lizzie were the most entertaining for me (their dialogue)
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I could, it is not boring at all.
Any additional comments?
This is just a really great historical fiction that plays on a woman's heart and shows the early sacrifices made by so many for freedom as well as the differences in how people were treated (especially women). I loved how the author used "my maker" in it for God and how she was able to give God a special place of honor in this book.

Historia
The story begins in 1962. On a rocky patch of the sun-drenched Italian coastline, a young innkeeper, chest-deep in daydreams, looks out over the incandescent waters of the Ligurian Sea and spies an apparition: a tall, thin woman, a vision in white, approaching him on a boat. She is an actress, he soon learns, an American starlet, and she is dying. And the story begins again today, half a world away, when an elderly Italian man shows up on a movie studio's back lot - searching for the mysterious woman he last saw at his hotel decades earlier.

What made the experience of listening to Beautiful Ruins the most enjoyable?
Narrator is excellent but the book is so interesting, it just keeps you interested all the way to the end.
Who was your favorite character and why?
it was the Italian young man who became the old man. I don't know how to spell his name.
Which character – as performed by Edoardo Ballerini – was your favorite?
Same, he just did the best job!!!! made him seem so humble.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
yes, if I could have!
Any additional comments?
Narrator was awesome!Book was awesome.I hate cursing in books and there was just way too much in this one, so if that had been left out, I think it would have been a five for me.

Would you listen to The Shoemaker's Wife again? Why?
No! I would if the narrator had not changed because it is a pretty decent story, a sweet romance with lots of twists and turns, but I could never listen to the narrator again.
The first narrator was excellent.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Enza because she was strong
What didn’t you like about Annabella Sciorra and Adriana Trigiani ’s performance?

Thankfully a happy ending to the nightmare
Revisado: 05-26-12
Would you consider the audio edition of The Seamstress to be better than the print version?
yes, because the narrator was wonderful, wonderful, wonderful and she could read it better to me than I could ever read it to myself!
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Seamstress?
I guess it would be the end of the war right before the rescue
What does Wanda McCaddon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
her great voice and enthusiasm and expression
she gives the main character a personality and spunk
Any additional comments?
This book was published after the author died and I just wish she knew how many peoples lives she has touched with her writing. She had so much hope and endurance and positive attitude in the middle of a nightmare. She also went on and didn't dwell on her nightmare. She actually had a good life afterwards.
