Historia
The dramatic story of an improbable gang of self-proclaimed “degenerates” who made WallStreetBets into a cultural movement that moved from the fringes of the internet to the center of Wall Street, upending the global financial markets and changing how an entire generation thinks about money, investing, and themselves.

Very interesting concepts
Revisado: 06-26-24
The idea of this book is already popular knowledge in the investment community. There are already movies about GME . At the time I am writing this it has been already a new chapter in the saga with the return of Roaring Kitty in June 2024 .
Anyhow, the author does not miss a chance to disqualify or portray Trump followers with a list of adjectives that may ban this review. I am not white nor American by birth and the selective criticism called my attention anyway

An excellent view of human behaviour
Revisado: 02-23-24
You will not share or accept all the behaviors described in this book. There are parts that I preferred not to listen and I think its is OK. But the rest is very interesting and maybe you can wide your understanding of the human experience

Historia
In 2006, hedge fund manager John Paulson realized something few others suspected - that the housing market and the value of subprime mortgages were grossly inflated and headed for a major fall. Paulson's background was in mergers and acquisitions, however, and he knew little about real estate or how to wager against housing. He had spent a career as an also-ran on Wall Street. But Paulson was convinced this was his chance to make his mark. He just wasn't sure how to do it. Colleagues at investment banks scoffed at him and investors dismissed him.

Excellent
Revisado: 02-22-24
It is an amazing true story narrated with a fair approach , an astute combination of technical details and personal notes . I am surprised that it does not fall in the easy criticism of the financial system. I recommended without any reservation.

It is good. But Chapter 14 belongs to another book
Revisado: 12-03-23
The story is good, it describes the path to creating Renaissance the most successful fund . The narrator is monotonous and sometimes it is good to sleep.
The book takes a strange turn in Chapter 14 when it focuses on President Trump election campaign 2016 . It goes in incredibly detail that I wish it would had to describe the Renaissance or other fund operation. 🤷♂️🤷♂️

It is not good
Revisado: 08-03-23
The story is shallow and very basic. The initial plot is good but the development is unrealistic to the point where it is funny. The relationship between the characters and their roles is unbelievable. Example, one character of a young woman without any special training , manage to launch a trained killer from a sixth floor ? . One of the big characters bargains with the USA Navy, based on nothing … . The narrative is not in contact with the reality . “ a possible war between the USA and South America “ South America is a subcontinent, not a country. I gave up it is hard to keep hearing it .

Historia
Half of all Americans have money in the stock market, yet economists can't agree on whether investors and markets are rational and efficient, as modern financial theory assumes, or irrational and inefficient, as behavioral economists believe - and as financial bubbles, crashes, and crises suggest. This is one of the biggest debates in economics, and the value or futility of investment management and financial regulation hang on the outcome. In this groundbreaking book, Andrew W. Lo cuts through this debate with a new framework.

Revisado: 06-10-21
The history of Rum is week developed, but at the mid of the book it start a mix of anti capitalism and anti america rhetoric.
The Brotherhood of the Coast a well known and documented pirate organization is depicted romantically and in a much favorable way that capitalism or American people fighting for its independence.
