Acerca de esta escucha

The dramatic story of an improbable gang of self-proclaimed “degenerates” who made WallStreetBets into a cultural movement that moved from the fringes of the internet to the center of Wall Street, upending the global financial markets and changing how an entire generation thinks about money, investing, and themselves.

Jaime Rogozinski and Jordan Zazzara were not what anyone would mistake for traditional financial power players. But they turned WallStreetBets, a subreddit focused on risky financial trading, into one of the most disruptive forces to bubble up from the fringes of the internet. This crude and unassuming message board harnessed the power of memes and trolling to create a new kind of online community. The group intertwined with the distrust and turmoil of our times and spoke to a generation of young men who were struggling to find their place in the world.

Deeply reported and fast moving, The Trolls of Wall Street is the suspenseful story of the people who made and lost millions, battling with each other—and with Wall Street—for power and status. It is a sobering account of how millions of young Americans became obsessed with money and the markets, casting a long and lasting influence over finance, politics, and popular culture.

I watched from the sidelines, and thought I knew. Even after reading Ben Mezryk's book, and watching the movie, and staying up to date on the latest news, and this blew the door off all of it. A must read to have any idea what's happening in the future.

The ending will blow your mind. I had no idea.

The idea of this book is already popular knowledge in the investment community. There are already movies about GME . At the time I am writing this it has been already a new chapter in the saga with the return of Roaring Kitty in June 2024 .
Anyhow, the author does not miss a chance to disqualify or portray Trump followers with a list of adjectives that may ban this review. I am not white nor American by birth and the selective criticism called my attention anyway

Very interesting concepts

Interesting topic, great writing and narration! Felt like watching a movie instead of just listening to a book. Enjoyed it. 10/10.

Great story telling!

Great reflection on a wild time in capital markets. Lots of behind the scenes details I never knew. Engaging and fun.

Couldn’t listen to this. The style of the narrator does not match the content of the book. It was too distracting.

This book is not what you think, It's a long rant about the formation and moderation of wall street bets, there is nothing new that has not been covered in all the Game stop documentaries other than the interpersonal nonsense between the moderators and founders of WSB on Reddit and some other ranting about Robinhood. This will be the first book I will ask for a credit for. Wish I could get my 10 hours back!
