Historia
This is an academic work describing how the New Testament writers re-purpose Genesis 6:1-5 in their presentation of Jesus as messiah. Though every topic addressed in Reversing Hermon can be found in scholarly academic literature, Reversing Hermon is the first book to gather this information and make it accessible to Bible students everywhere. The book also includes lengthy appendices on the ancient debate on the inspiration of the book of 1 Enoch, New Testament allusions to the book, and academic resources.

Rediscovering Lost Contexts
Revisado: 11-27-24
I'm glad that I discovered scholarly authors like Michael Heiser. I have learned a great deal of information about the original context of the Bible.
As for this Audible book, I did enjoy listening to Michael Duty read the book as I myself followed along through my Kindle. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because there were times it was redubbed and the effect was obvious. Another reason was sometimes he would club the pronunciation of a non-English word. Twice I remember him giving multiple pronunciations to a single word.
On the whole, this book is of great necessity for any Christian who wants to discover pieces of missing context from their Bible.

Nothing Better than Wodehouse as read by Harrison
Revisado: 03-08-24
I remember reading a couple of "Jeeves" stories as a kid and loving them. Then discovering the TV show "Jeeves and Wooster" and seeing the characters come to life. However when I bought this audiobook, I was blown away by B.J. Harrison's narration. His reading speed is at an even tempo and his ability to create different voice types and accents is superb. I have listened to this audiobook several times over the years but have neglected to give it a review until now.

Historia
In The Mosaic of Christian Belief Roger E. Olson thematically traces the contours of Christian belief down through the ages, revealing a pattern of both unity and diversity. He finds a consensus of teaching that is both unitive and able to incorporate a faithful diversity when not forced into the molds of false either-or alternatives. The mosaic that emerges from Olson's work, now updated throughout and with a new chapter on the Holy Spirit, displays a mediating evangelical theology that is irenic in spirit and tone.

Delightful, insightful, and easy to follow.
Revisado: 10-11-22
This book was required reading for both my Systematic Theology 1 and 2 classes. I found it very interesting and informative. It is not bogged down with philosophical mumbojumbo, yet it is not dumbed down. Dr. Olson has found a brilliant middle ground to make sure that this book is both informative and easy to understand.

Christianity has a rich, evidential history, yet most of us are ill prepared to make the case for what we believe. In Forensic Faith, veteran detective J. Warner Wallace teaches us the principles investigators use, so we can develop a clear, evidence-based faith.

And in this bold 24-lecture series, you can do just that.
