Historia
In December 2009, a group of the CIA’s top terrorist hunters gathered at a secret base in Khost, Afghanistan, to greet a rising superspy: Humam Khalil al-Balawi, a Jordanian double-agent who infiltrated the upper ranks of al-Qaeda. For months, he had sent shocking revelations from inside the terrorist network and now promised to help the CIA assassinate Osama bin Laden’s top deputy. Instead, as he stepped from his car, he detonated a 30-pound bomb strapped to his chest, instantly killing seven CIA operatives....

Historia
Only once in a lifetime does a war so brutal erupt. A war that becomes an official genocide, causes millions to run from their homes, compels the slaughtering of thousands in the most horrific of ways, and inspires terrorist attacks to transpire across the world. That is the chilling legacy of the ISIS onslaught, and Only Cry for the Living takes a profoundly personal, unprecedented dive into one of the most brutal terrorist organizations in the world.

When Society falls apart, evil can take over.
Revisado: 12-02-22
I've dealt with death for many years, it isn't pretty. Hollie brings the wholesale death and misery to words that provides a humanistic reality to the evil that can lurk nearby waiting for the opportunity to raise its ugly head.
Evil comes with many faces, friend, neighbor, family, religious leaders, political parties.
Hollie exposes the evil others prefer to hide.
Hollie also puts a face on the meek, good and generous good people who have survived terrible atrocities. Good will survive but it will not be without sacrifice.
Thank you Hollie for putting a face on the good and gentle people and exposing the evil.

Very uplifting!
Revisado: 11-19-22
God puts you where you're supposed to be for your benefit or the benefit of someone else. It's not always about you at the present. It may be about some you influence, directly or indirectly, in the future. The first story "Amen" is pretty straightforward with this message. the the owner of the "Amen" had not had his delays in sailing, he would have never been in the right place at the right time to rescue two children.
Most of the time it's not that straight forward.
If Jesus had not gone through the Passion would he have had the same Impact on billions of people?

Don't let the title fool you. This isn't a book about high fiving everyone else in your life. You're already doing that. Cheering for your favorite teams. Celebrating your friends. Supporting the people you love as they go after what they want in life. Imagine if you gave that same love and encouragement to yourself. Or even better, you made it a daily habit. You'd be unstoppable. In this book, Mel teaches you how to start high fiving the most important person in your life, the one who is staring back at you in the mirror: YOURSELF.

Mel is very relatable
Revisado: 10-26-22
I don't remember buying the Audible book. I drive a great deal for work, so I enjoy listening to books instead of the radio. I'd just finished a rather long Audible book and this was in my "not started" list. Mel did the narration, which was excellent, and you could tell by her emotions. it was moving and real. She offers good advice on a variety of subjects.

Good Historical Review through 2006 of CI
Revisado: 09-05-22
Gertz does a good job of documenting failures in Counter Inteligence that has come to light since the Walker Spy ring. He covers Russia, China, Cuba, Iran, and North Korea state sponsored CI well and to a lessor extent terrorist organizations.
US CI needs more HUMINT, but will our politicians allow us to protect the US foreign aggressors while providing the necessary oversight to ensure that CI is not misused for political reasons.
Currently, in fall of 2022, the FBI raided former President Trump's residence searching for Top Secret documents. in 2004 an FBI Agent assigned to the The WMD Commission removed a TS/SCI CIA critical report that was critical of FBI's failure in from a secured document vault. the Agent gave the report to the FBI's head of CI.
The FBI took no action against their own agent for violating document handling of TS material. Where is the balance? Who watches the watchers?

Historia
Now in a third edition, Robert M. Sapolsky's acclaimed and successful Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers features new chapters on how stress affects sleep and addiction, as well as new insights into anxiety and personality disorder and the impact of spirituality on managing stress. As Sapolsky explains, most of us do not lie awake at night worrying about whether we have leprosy or malaria. Instead, the diseases we fear-and the ones that plague us now-are illnesses brought on by the slow accumulation of damage, such as heart disease and cancer.
