Historia
In HodgePodge, best-selling author Robert Urban once again shows his mastery of blending his authenticity, irreverent humor, brilliance and unique perspective to create a book about the realities of life. Robert shares his most intimate sometimes uproarious, sometimes tragic, but always poignant experiences and thoughts about parenting, death, god, groupies, dating, drug addiction and other topics. Critics have described this book as an "R rated version of Chicken Soup for the Soul".

Great Book....lousy narration.
Revisado: 04-26-25
This book is funny...almost laugh out loud funny, but the virtual voice was so flat and deadpan that it totally ruined the experience for me. If it were possible to give negative stars for Performance, I'd give it a -10. Maybe this virtual voice crap will improve in the future, but for those of us that appreciate the voices of real people I'd rather just skip any books with this.

Historia
Ray Midge is waiting for his credit card bill to arrive. His wife, Norma, has run off with her ex-husband, taking Ray’s cards, shotgun, and car. But from the receipts, Ray can track where they’ve gone. He takes off after them, as does an irritatingly tenacious bail bondsman, both following the romantic couple’s spending as far as Mexico.

The story was a little thin. If I had been reading the book I’m not sure I would have finished it but the narration was so good that it kept me interested till the unsatisfying end.

I thin the narrator really made the difference in this book. I was a little disappointed with the ending but the entire book kept me involved. Totally worth listening to.

Historia
Doing Time: For the prison writers whose work is included in this anthology, it means more than "serving a sentence"; it means staying alive and sane, preserving dignity, reinventing oneself, and somehow retaining one's humanity. For the last quarter century the prestigious writers' organization PEN has sponsored a contest for writers behind bars to help prisoners face these challenges. The contest honors the best short stories, plays, essays, and poems among hundreds submitted annually by men and women nationwide.

Such amazing talent is languishing behind bars.

The stories and poems come to life with each narrator. The only problem I had was occasionally losing where one story ended and another began.

Historia
James Dommek, Jr., an Alaska Native writer and musician, sheds new light on a real-life mystery that pits Native American folklore against the US justice system. In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

Appealing tragic.

Although I knew what the ending would be, the writing and narration was so spectacular it ended up being the best book I’ve listened to this year!!! It is worth listening to it twice or even more!
