A fabulous escape that moves from mundane to amazing!
Revisado: 01-12-25
I loved this story because of the resilience of the main character who refuses to let his trauma warp him. He accepts help where he needs it, embraces love when he finds it, and makes the right decision in the end.

Historia
From USA Today bestselling author, Julie Mulhern, comes a short worthy of the Country Club Murders name. For Aggie DeLucci, former assistant private investigator and current housekeeper extraordinaire, 1975 is turning out to be a banner year. There’s a new man her life, Mac. He makes her laugh, takes her dancing, and makes a helluva salami sandwich. When Mac is accused of theft, it’s up to Aggie to clear his name. She’ll have to polish her slightly tarnished investigative kills and tame her fears (and her hair) to catch the real thief. If this is your first trip to 70s Kansas City, ...

Love the story, narrator is too experimental.
Revisado: 09-07-24
The story is great and I love having it available on audio. The narrator being AI lacks human subtly. The narration is good enough to enjoy the story but I prefer Callie Beaulieu.

Historia
In retreat from a devastating loss and crushing injustice, Katie lives alone in a fortresslike stone house on Jacob’s Ladder island. Once a rising star in the art world, she finds refuge in her painting. The neighboring island of Ringrock houses a secret: a government research facility. And now two agents have arrived on Jacob’s Ladder in search of someone—or something—they refuse to identify. Although an air of menace hangs over these men, an infinitely greater threat has arrived, one so strange even the island animals are in a state of high alarm.

For those who think deeply & act with conviction.
Revisado: 02-15-23
Koontz seems to hit or miss with narrators, but Natalie Naudus is definitely a hit. She does a wonderful job of making each character real. As for the story, I love the wonderful female characters who think for themselves. The fox is really cool as well.

Not every danger comes in the form of a mega-threat like a Titan. Some predators are a lot cozier...more personal. When one such creature threatens an independent tutor, Harry Dresden must shake off the blood and dirt of his most recent battles and rise to the occasion, even when it turns out that the new predator is far more dangerous and connected than first appearances would suggest.

In this book, Luke Goss goes to the desert - not a long adventure or expedition, but a simple camping trip - to check in with himself. Four days and nights alone isn't long, but long enough to stop and listen without distraction. Questions about love, faith, God, war, consumption, and more, this book is to reach out and to share a few thoughts and philosophies accompanied by images taken by Luke in the hope to give the reader a moment shared. With images of sunsets and a midnight campfire, you're invited to a Desert Conversation.

Very few of us take a moment away from the daily grind. I reccomend taking an hour and listening to what this guy has to say. You probably won't agree with everything, but he makes a lot of good points. If all else fails, it is the most relaxing audiobook I have ever heard.
