Historia
Blindness hasn't held her back...But it could get her killed. Syd Shaeffer used to be so much: career-driven and fearless, a stellar New York District Attorney, and fiancée to love of her life, Frank Spinelli. A viral eye infection changed all that. Now she's blind and runs a failing law practice out in the burbs. But when Frank goes missing in New Zealand and the ransom note tells his mother not to call the police, Syd may be the only one who can find him. Is Syd driven by honor? Or is she trying to prove that she's still good enough? And when the first dead body turns up, can she unravel...

interesting story line
Revisado: 03-31-25
Frankly I never realized the story was read by an AI. I suppose after hearing some of Facebook's AIs this one seemed full of emotion or perhaps I just overlooked it because the storyline was interesting.

Historia
A thousand years have passed since a dragon has been seen in the world. Science and technology have replaced magic, which has dwindled until it has become little more than an element of myth and legend. There are those who still have dragon blood flowing through their veins, distant descendants of the mighty creatures of old. These rare humans have the power to cast magic, the power to heal, and the power to craft alchemical weapons capable of starting wars...or ending them.

Revisado: 08-17-21
loving the series. I must be I'm about to buy the next book. I'm glad to find another author that I like. I have a few that I like really well but after a while you want something fresh and different. I'm glad I found something.

Predictable?
Revisado: 07-17-21
Am I getting smarter? No, I seriously doubt it. yet I knew almost from the beginning that the younger brother was the one that did The killing. and I knew he wasn't going to be the one in Africa. I did think he was probably dead that he and the older brother probably got into a physical fighting it he accidentally killed him. so that was a nice twist I wasn't expecting. don't get me wrong I love Nora Roberts books! I don't care what she writes names she writes under. I am beginning to wonder after this one about her beliefs. then I remind myself she's not the characters in her books. anyways still a really good book I thoroughly enjoyed it. and looking forward to another one. I just got to figure out which one is next. about 6 months ago I decided to read them all from beginning to end in order. One good advantage to growing old, besides being on the green side of the grave, is I no longer remembering the storyline and books I've already read. When I was in my thirties I would have remembered everything and I couldn't have enjoyed them a second time. . this one is definitely worth reading.

Historia
While Eve examines a fresh body in Washington Square Park, her husband, Roarke, spots a man among the onlookers he’s known since his younger days on the streets of Dublin. A man who claims to be his half brother. A man who kills for a living - and who burns with hatred for him. Eve is quick to suspect that the victim’s spouse - resentful over his wife’s affair and poised to inherit her fortune - would have happily paid an assassin to do his dirty work. Roarke is just as quick to warn her that if Lorcan Cobbe is the hitman, she needs to be careful.

another good one
Revisado: 11-29-20
loved it. one of the best 'in death" so far. narration excellent as always! keep hoping one day a tv series will be made from them but can't think of a single actor who could play Rorke! can't think of a single man who would fit the description....and he'd have to or it would ruin everything. Sinner and Saint, Angel and Devil.

second reading
Revisado: 10-21-20
There once was a time when I could read a book and three years later I still tell you what it was about. With each passing year since 40, the less that's true. there is a wonderful side effect to that fact and that is I can read things a second time and enjoy the story all over again. I love Nora Roberts' In Death Series so I decided to start over again and read them all from the first to the last . wonderful decision!

Historia
Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Tory Bodeen grew up in a run-down house where her father ruled with an iron fist and a leather belt - and where her dreams and talents had no room to flourish. Her one escape was her neighbor Hope, who lived in the big house just a short skip away, and whose friendship allowed Tory to be something she wasn’t allowed to be at home: a child. Then Hope was brutally murdered, and everything fell apart.
