Writing is so descriptive that you feel like you are almost present. I love the narrator because she puts so much feeling into the story. I highly recommend this trilogy to anyone who enjoys hearing about New Orleans and Voodoo. Excellent!

Historia
Alexei Navalny began writing Patriot shortly after his near-fatal poisoning in 2020. It is the full story of his life: his youth, his call to activism, his marriage and family, his commitment to challenging a world super-power determined to silence him, and his total conviction that change cannot be resisted—and will come. Patriot is Navalny’s final letter to the world: a moving account of his last years spent in the most brutal prison on earth; a reminder of why the principles of individual freedom matter so deeply; and a rousing call to continue the work for which he sacrificed his life.

I am totally in awe of the determination, strength and fortitude of this man. The world is a better place for having him in it. I truly hope and believe that Russia will be a free and fair country someday soon because of the changes that he helped to begin. The torch has been passed and it's now up to the many citizens of Russia to take up the charge. Rest easy Alexei, you were right all along. Russia will know happiness and good fortune thanks to you and your ultimate sacrifice.

Excellent story, narrator and writing. Stories so relatable that you can't help but feel as though you are listening to a close friend over a few beers. The medical community is better for young doctors like this one.

Great Listen!
Revisado: 10-15-24
This audible book is truly entertaining and actually pretty informative. It's a window into a day in the life of an RN and the many patients she treats. Well written and read with a soothing voice. I recommend this to anyone who is curious about the ins and outs of healthcare. Lastly but most importantly, I must say that not all heroes wear capes. A huge percentage of them are working quietly behind the doors of your nearest hospital. I will be forever grateful to the men and women who work together as a team to save lives each and every day as they are truly angels on earth.

I loved the main character and the way she could change not only her name but her looks and personality to suit the job she was assigned to complete. The ending was quite a surprise and the storyline kept me at the edge of my seat. I would love to see this turned into a movie! It is well worth 5 stars and then some. If you enjoy a mystery with lots of suspense, then I'm sure you'll enjoy this outstanding piece of work.

On a warm spring evening, guests gather in a perfectly manicured garden to celebrate Maggie and Len’s twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Maggie leans against the apple tree, watching her fun-loving husband and darling children as her heart swells with pride. As the joyful party atmosphere disappears into the night, close by, the lifeless body of a young woman is pulled from a river. I truly enjoy listening to this performer reading stories by this author. I have now listened to all of the Dan Riley series and can honestly say that this story ranks up there as one of my upmost favorites. It seems like just when you think you have things all figured out, you begin to suspect someone totally different. I thoroughly enjoyed this one from beginning to end, I think you will too!

Great little listen with all the feels. This story touched me on many levels and reminded me of my own family in much rougher yet simpler times. Every child should know the love of a mother as kind and dedicated as the one in this beautiful story.

Historia
The doorbell rings, just days after my beloved husband’s sudden death. I don’t recognise the woman on our doorstep, with her blonde highlights, a diamond bracelet identical to my own and a bouncing baby boy in her arms. As I show her inside, I notice her eyes grow wide as she takes in our spacious hallway, and the big squashy sofas that we all used to pile on. She glances at the silver-framed family photos and my little daughter hiding behind my skirts. She looks at me, her blue eyes serious. ‘I’m sorry’ she says. ‘I am your husband’s girlfriend. And this is his son.'

Historia
Talking about death and dying is considered taboo in polite company, and even in the medical field. Our ideas about dying are confusing at best: Will our memories flash before our eyes? Regrets consume our thoughts? Does a bright light appear at the end of a tunnel? For most people, it will be a slower process, one eased with preparedness, good humor, and a bit of faith. At the forefront of changing attitudes around palliative care is hospice nurse Hadley Vlahos, who shows that end-of-life care can teach us just as much about how to live as it does about how we die.

Beautiful
Revisado: 01-20-24
I would like to thank Hadley for sharing these beautiful although heartbreaking experiences with us. I have been comforted by the fact that you have witnessed the moment when patients loved ones have come to escort them to the other side of the veil. Having a terminal condition myself, I now have a better understanding of what can happen in my own final moments. You have helped me to change the way I have imagined my death from being something to fear into something I can accept. Now, if I could just get you to move to Ohio and see me through to the end. You have touched my heart more than you could ever imagine. Your patients are fortunate to have you as their nurse and caretaker. Thanks again! ❤️
