Stayed up half the night to finish it - Duet style

A wonderfully written and narrated romantic suspense. I would highly recommend this audiobook.

The first half gives explanations through flashbacks, giving you what you need when you need it. The second half is the romance and bulk of the suspense which is what kept me up half the night to finish it.

Character development was very strong for the siblings Jenna and Jason. We learn very little about Saint's history but given that understanding each side of him is the title of the book, I don't think it wholly necessary.

The duet narration was spot on. Initially I was concerned that the slight monotone of Macie Miller's character Jenna was going to irritate me. However it was a necessity given Jenna's aspergers diagnosis with the description of feelings backing it up. Marcus Rayne's voice was the perfect amount of gruff for Saint and an excellent narrator choice.

About midway through the story, I purchased the other two audiobooks available by Kristi Pelton because I knew I would want to listen to more from her.

Short and Sweet Second Chance

This was a short and sweet second chance romance based on the reimagination of German fairytale. The author did a great job at removing all the unnecessary fluff, breaking down the drama of 14 years apart and still keeping the characters in tact and relatable.

The terrible ex/nemises drama kept the edge of suspense present but the true love story was going to have a HEA so you didn't have to wonder on it long.

Jason Clark and Ava Lucas are very talented narrators and portrayed the characters well.

I received a free copy of this audiobook and offer my review without bias.

So far, this has been my favorite Winston Brothers story. I loved how the story timeline coincided with Beard Science (book 3), Cletus' story. This gives you four different perspectives to the same timeline and what is going on in others lives. Typically books in a series follow one another but these two could easily be meshed together. Bo's endearing personality that has been portrayed throughout the other books was just as fun to see in first person but also gave you better insight into his flirty personality. Both Shelly and Bo showed that appearances are just the chocolate coating, you'll never know what the filling is unless you indulge yourself (or stick your finger through it so you don't have to eat the coconut ones in my case).

Angela Dawe did an AMAZING job at narrating Shelly's seemingly chaotic thought processes and inner monologues. It was excellently executed and drew me in. Chris Brinkley did a wonderful job with all characters except Shelly's... his portrayal made her sound like a 50 year smoker with high testosterone levels.

One of the best parts about Penny Reid's books are the quotes at the beginning of each chapter. I keep a book of my favorite quotes and many of hers have gone into my book over time.

Sophie and Nash didn't get much of a chance to act on their feelings years ago due to personal fears but two years later, Nash learns of the danger Sophie is in and rushes to help her. This is one of the more action packed books in the series with two total bad ass characters. I love how strong women are portrayed in Kathleen Brooks' novels and the utter sex appeal of the men. There doesn't appear to be anyone who is average (except maybe Deputy Dinky and his family) in Keenston and you get to see a lot of it in this book in particular.

Narration by Eric G. Dove is always on point!

The Playboy Prince and the Princess of Heroin meet at a bar. ... doesn't sound like the fairy tale little girls dream of but it certainly leads to HEA.

One thing I love about all the Bluegrass books is how "when you know you know" and the insta-love isn't something that is fought very much. I've listened to a lot of the stories where the daughters are the main ones seeking approval for their man from their families and over protective fathers. It's nice to see how the future daughter-in-laws go through their own gauntlet of sorts.

Eric G. Dove is a fantastic narrator and always 5 stars from me.

Riley and Matt make an excellent team as they both build each other back up after having gone through some difficult times. As a team they face some extreme political dangers and come out better together. With "retired" spy Cy Davies as her father, you know Riley is ready to face down the enemy.

I listened to this series a little out of order and now kind of kick myself for knowing outcomes of characters before they are introduced. Enter Ania and Deondre who we get to fall in love with alongside our favorite families in Keenston.

Narrator Eric G. Dove is brilliant!

I'm guilty for listening to some of the series out of order so I already loved Deacon and Sydney in later books.
Sydney is gifted with a treasure hunt upon her Grandmothers death to find out the Daughters of Elizabeth family secrets. The fun introduction between Deacon and Syd as he discovers her digging up his backyard leads to a hot romance, action and suspense as they work together on a PI to find a missing hopeful model leading to an FBI investigation. Of course the people of Keenston are always happy to help out.

One of my favorite parts about the women of Keenston is their over protective fathers and grandbaby hungry mothers. Fortunately, Deacon wins them over with ease.

Eric G. Dove is amazing and I have yet to listen to a book narrated by him that I haven't enjoyed.

Mackayla is a pink haired bombshell Hollywood hairstylist who along with her best friend, opened up a shop in a small town. Right across the street is the mechanics shop run by two brothers, one who is a bad ass motorcycle riding military veteran haunted by demons of his past. Evan is a grumbling and trying to protect others from himself but its a message Mackayla isn't accepting. As she slowly breaks down Evan's defenses, their passion and love blossoms. With a little stalker drama thrown in that doesn't resolve until the last hour (but the reader will have their suspicions).

This book had just the right amount of sass from a strong female lead and drama to keep the reader interested. Usually I know what is missing that could make a book a 5 star in my mind but nothing jumps out at me. It wasn't my favorite but definitely a good one.

Toni Anderson is very talented in her writing style and creating connections with characters. While this story didn't captivate me like some of the others in the Cold Justice series, it was still a good listen. The character development was a little lacking on the back stories of where their insecurities lay but it didn't detract. I would have liked a little less uncertainty and dramatic internal monologues of insecurities.
Eric G. Dove is an awesome narrator and never disappoints.

I knew that there was something very familiar about the story but the few times I anticipated drama, there wasn't any. The characters were definitely familiar as they were mentioned in other stories namely Mister O and Well Hung but looking back at my previous audible account, I apparently listened to this one two years ago. That being said, the story didn't stick with me like some of the others have; maybe there is another book about a father/nanny relationship that I'm mixing drama plots with in my mind.

The attraction between Simon and Abby is electric and their mutual love for Simon's daughter is endearing. I adore that the two were able to be honest about their feelings and to make everything work with no insecurities and minimal drama. Their banter is super sweet. I adored this story and even more so hearing Sebastian York say "Abby" (my name) in his sexy voice definitely didn't hurt.

Lauren Blakely is one of my go-to authors who never disappoints. Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are a power duo of narration that I always enjoy.

Definitely worth the listen.
