Historia
I know how crazy this will sound, but after a freak accident, I woke up in the 1950s...and met a really special guy. His name is Daniel Parker. He's adorable, sweet, hot, and everything else I've been searching for. There might be a way to return to my own time, but I'm not sure I can leave him.

Historia
Austin Glass seems to have it all: a loving fiancée, a future with the FBI, and a healthy-sized trust fund. At least on the surface. He also has a grin and a wisecrack for every situation. But the smile he presents to the world hides a painful past he’s buried too deeply to remember, and his quips mask bitterness and insecurity. Austin has himself and most of the whole world fooled - until he meets a redhead in a pair of bunny slippers.

One of my favourite audio books
Revisado: 05-18-20
Good story, characters, and perfectly matching narration. Story has a few inconsistencies that are bit annoying (e.g. Peter tells Austin he had to tell Kai about how his father died, then acts all surprised in a car that Kai knows) but given the overall quality they are tolerable.

The Mote In God's Eye is their acknowledged masterpiece, an epic novel of mankind's first encounter with alien life that transcends the genre. No lesser an authority than Robert A. Heinlein called it "possibly the finest science fiction novel I have ever read".

Great book and great narration
Revisado: 08-15-16
Would you listen to The Mote in God's Eye again? Why?
I have listened to it about dozen times already. Sure I will listen to it again.
What other book might you compare The Mote in God's Eye to and why?
Well I like Codominium universe very much. All of them.
Which character – as performed by L J Ganser – was your favorite?
There are so many great characters, I don't know that any one stands out but just because they are all great...
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
To try avoding spoliers - argument when Blaine is ordered by Kutuzov to do something he doesn't like, and the moment the latter says "and you say this to me?"
There are many more, but... it would spoil the book
Any additional comments?
If you like Codominium universe, you will probably love this one.

Lieutenant Commander Jason Reynolds has had a string of bad luck lately - evident by the uncomfortable house arrest bracelet strapped to his right ankle. Worse yet, he's relegated to his grandfather's old house and rambling scrapyard. To complicate things, the women in his life are pulling from every direction. But it's through a bizarre turn of events that Jason is led to a dried up subterranean aquifer hundreds of feet below ground. Here he discovers an advanced alien spacecraft, one that will propel his life in a new direction.

Starts well, then ridiculous
Revisado: 07-05-16
What disappointed you about Scrapyard Ship?
Two main problems:
When there is problem, magical solution suddenly appears. And this happens over and over again - it's cheap and it gets old fast.
Main characters are immortal and can survive anything - even gunshots that should kill, whereas everyone else(including bunch of SEALs) is cannon fodder.
Third problem:
Ends in "cliffhanger". Except I have no temptation to find out what happens.
Has Scrapyard Ship turned you off from other books in this genre?
Not from the genre, but I have no intention to pay for sequel. If author/audible thinks sequel is much better, I am willing to try it if you give it free for review.
Which character – as performed by L. J. Ganser – was your favorite?
As for L.J. Ganser narration is fine. He's probably why I tried this one.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
By the end of the book, just sense of disbelief. And relief it was over.
Any additional comments?
This was quite a disappointment. Settings were interesting, story was interesting, but it feels as if author run out of inspiration and started piling ridicule upon ridicule.

Historia
Skye Mackenzie has dealt with the supernatural most of his life, but he's never before encountered the likes of the adventure that is about to descend upon him. An oddly attired, unconscious boy appears in Graymoor Mansion at the same time a horrific storm begins. When the boy awakens, Marshall, Skye, and the others discover that their visitor is from another world - a world where elves walk, dragons fly, and fairies are real.

Skye's adventures in fantasy world
Revisado: 06-19-14
What made the experience of listening to The Heart of Graymoor the most enjoyable?
Characters and story are very sympathetic. Wuffa's narration, given what the character has to say, rocks!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I don't think I can choose between Skye and Wuffa. All of the story is told from Skye's perspective, and he has his own personality, yet Wuffa's narration gives much to the audiobook - his shocked/lamenting statements give the whole experience a lot.
What about Robert G. Davis’s performance did you like?
I totally love his Wuffa's narration! Overall, the rest is not bad although there are some points where other characters and I do recall having to revind at some points because on few occasions I had difficulty understanding the word, but I totally dig Wuffa's narration! I would wish I could hope for more stories with Wuffa narrated by Davis, although sadly it does not seem likely anytime soon, because there are no other books with Wuffa as of yet... and probably won't be for quite some time, and I don't know if Davis will be available then...
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Strangely, most emotional part (or two parts) occur at the very end of the story, one even in epilogue. Although epilogue gives happy ending of sorts, it has it's own very strong point. t's difficult to write about it, without spoiling it.
There are some other points, where certainly there are things to laugh about, and some other saddening moments, but none of it compares to the end of the book.
Any additional comments?
Story does close number of avenues for sequels, though opens some. I'm looking to hearing the rest of the narrations of books written by Mark A. Roeder, although only minority of his books are narrated as of yet... so will probably end with e-books mostly. Another notable point is that this book does not contain sex, and may thus be accessible to greater audience - there is gay aspect yes, but it's good fantasy book, too.
