I finished this story a week ago, and I still cant stop thinking about it. Jay bell did an outstanding job with this one. They way he seamlessly blends the past with the present is perfect. I feel in love with all the characters in this book especially the main characters. It felt like each character that was introduced had enough depth that you are not left with many questions. Also the way elements of black history during the 1950's are introduced felt very well researched and handled with the gravity it should be. I throughly enjoyed this book and I can't recommended it enough.

You must read and or listen to this one, my fellow mm romance aficionados.

I have never ever cried while reading a romance novel, but this one got me. This is a beautiful story of love, time travel, and heartache. I just finished listening to this and am drowning in tears but each tear was worth it.

I would classify this one as a happy for now ending. I would love to see this story told from Daniel’s perspective as “Book 1.5,” since my poor heart misses both him and Reggie so much.

A must-listen but be prepared to drown in tears.

loved the interracial relationship in the 1950's. was heart broke when Daniel didn't go through the gate, but loved that they were gonna try and work things out in the end.

I loved everything about the book. I was quickly endeared to each character. I didn’t want it to end! I can’t say anymore not to spoil it, but if you’re on the fence about buying this book, just get it.. you won’t be sorry!!

Not going to lie at first I wasn't really into the book but after the first chapter I was invested, I loved it, the story was great and enlightened me on the hardships of past LGBTQ youth. great book!

a beautiful story that almost brought me to Tears. I love the fact of how accurate the Gay history is, a lot of stories we hear aren't like this. They talk all about queer people getting killed but Never the other side, where people say that it was a mental disorder. all in all Jay Bell is an Amazing Author with a Realistic show of gay romance.

Great book, great story, great performance, great author. None of this is surprising from a Jay Bell novel. His characters are real and human and lovable. I’m always sad when I don’t have any more pages to read.
