Historia
Trent Lockheart might be the new sheriff in town, but he can't stop Jessie Jean from stealing his heart. Sheriff Trent Lockheart knew he'd be in for a challenge when he moved from the big city and a large police force to the small Wyoming town of Cobble Creek. But at least he'd be able to stick to his bachelor ways without temptation. So he thought. Cobble Creek isn't overflowing with young, single ladies, but Jessie Jean—the gorgeous woman who runs the Country Quilt Inn—proves more tempting than any he's known. Jessie doesn't care much for the new sheriff in town. After an explosive ...

Light and fun
Revisado: 06-22-24
I love everything Kimberly Krey writes, always light and airy with a bit of seriousness. She does it in a way that seems effortless.
Warning: This is narrated with "virtual voice" which means the voice inflections are off and the cadence can be a awkward. Plus, there are times when you don't realize who is voicing their thoughts and a change of location or time has occurred.

Historia
London barrister Jason Jonquil has spent his entire life working to establish his identity as a gentleman, a man of refinement like his father and brothers. But when fiery Spanish beauty Mariposa Thornton walks into his office, he finds himself losing his grasp on his dignified character. The woman is infuriating, pushing him to the limit of his legendary patience. However, her case seems simple enough - a small matter of inheritance. Or so he believes.

love the story!
Revisado: 06-02-21
I was disappointed that the narrator wasn't British but she did a great job with voice inflections and the other accents of the characters, well as much of a Spanish accent can be without using the "zeta" because that would be a true Spanish accent.
There were many times that I laughed at the antics of the characters. You understood their plight and wanted them to win. I get that Mariposa's worse nightmare was to come across the Frenchmen who threatened her but that was a bit of a letdown.

So much imagination and wonder
Revisado: 04-27-21
Nancy Campbell Allen has done it once more. She has drawn me into a whole other world that I don't want to return from. I love the characters and how she builds the plot to the climax keeping you guessing the entire time.
Elizabeth Knowelden has a breathy voice that bugged me. As the story wore on, however, her ability to truly perform the story, with the right cadence and tonality, was brilliant and I didn't notice as much.

Heart pounding story, with a great performance
Revisado: 04-03-21
Nancy Campbell Allen has done it again. She has pulled me into an amazing world that I do not want to leave. I was leery about listening to a steampunk novel and at first struggled to immerse myself in the storyline because I didn't understand some of the terms or what time period this was supposed to be, all of which frustrated me. However, once it got going I couldn't stop listening. I still would like to understand better about the tela-communicators. That is still a puzzle to me and the Tesla lamps seem like a flashlight that has to be recharged.

Historia
Miss Abigail Nash is no stranger to loneliness. Her mother died giving birth to her, her father's business dealings took him away more often than not, and her ailing great-aunt, unable to provide much in the way of companionship, was a lack-luster guardian at best. When her dear friends offer to launch her into London society, her life takes a turn for the better.

Great story and performance
Revisado: 03-01-21
Rachael spins a story to where you are a part of the story and understand the characters dilemma. You want them together and cheer for them when they stand strong.
It's not easy to read a story with the right inflections and make the voices sound different so the listener knows a distinct person is talking. Helen Taylor does a wonderful job and you can hear the desperation, hope or happiness in her voice as she performs.

Frustrating middle but sigh worthy ending
Revisado: 02-25-21
Communication could have fixed about a third of the story but that made the ending that much sweeter. I have read/listened to this series out of order so I already knew the ending but there were plenty of twists and turns that I still loved listening. Marian Hussey did a beautiful performance and Sally Britton knows her way around Regency England. Darn Napoleon for causing so much conflict!

Great Adventure
Revisado: 02-04-21
I loved the story. I had already read Grace's story and thought Hope was rather reckless, as the read is supposed to, with her antics. I felt her lies made her grow up because she had to stop and think what her sister would do. Hope had to evaluate her words and actions more but she was still her adventurous self.

Sigh worthy good book
Revisado: 11-22-20
I hated the fact that it is done! I knew it had to and loved the fact that the characters from Ms White's other stories were in this one. I might have to go back and listen to them all again just to see how they fit together better. As for Ms Lyons' performance, she was good but I think she struggled with the accents. She did have a good cadence and flow.

Revisado: 10-28-20
Love the story! So many twists and turns but somethings were predictable, which I liked. Roseanna M. White can weave a tale to where you don't want to come back from and Liz Pearce can tell/read the story like no other. Her ability to get the different accents from Scottish to Russian to Irish is delightful.

Another Fantastic Adventure
Revisado: 09-08-20
Liz Pearce is perfect in her narration. She is able to bring the different voices to life whether British, French or Irish accents.
Roseanna White can write amazing tales of adventure, scandal, murder and love at every turn. You are right there with the characters if they are on the Mediterranean Coast of Manaco or the busy city of London. You can feel their frustration, pain and relief.
