One of the best books I’ve ever read…

The storyline, the childhood trauma, mental illness, and especially the diagnosis of “Dissociative Disorder” especially hit home for me. I listened without stopping, which I never do. But this book was almost like going through my own personal therapy journey. Such a great book. Lucinda Berry, thank you for this one. You have no idea how much of an impact this book has made.

Engaged me from the start

I listen to Audiobooks every night to help with my insomnia. So, finding an extremely exciting book is not typically my goal, although I do love when I come across them. This book was one of them. It kept me listening during the day, and I finished it in about a day. I had to listen to it even after I woke up because I became that invested. It deals with real life situations like foster care, the system, and most of all, mental health. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a good Domestic Thriller.

Should have been longer, but still SO GOOD!

Definitely could have been longer. There were so many stories happening, which were all good and juicy just as you’d expect from a Domestic Thriller. The Narration and Storyline were good. The only thing that fell short was the length of the book. Lots of twists and turns, even up to the very last paragraph.

Wow! Incredible!

I listened to this twice back to back, it is that good. I’m a 54 year old Mom who fell in love with Lauren like a daughter. Your Mom is so proud of you!
As a listener, as soon as a question would pop in my head, Lauren would pause the tapes and give her narration and answers to all questions along the way. The production was superb. I immediately followed Lauren on social media, and I’m looking forward to hearing all the latest in the case of Laurie Malloy.

Sometimes I listen to a free book at night to help me with my insomnia. Sometimes they are so good, I end up enjoying them too much to “waste” on a bedtime book. This book was one of those. Difficult subjects, but unfortunately extremely prevalent and true in our world. Loved the main character and James. Very much worth the listen. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great Storyline!

Everything was great, and met my expectations in a domestic thriller/mystery book. The only complaint I have is the ending being so abrupt. I wanted more! Hopefully there will be a sequel. Also, it didn’t hurt that I’m from Northern California, Palo Alto, and often visit Lake Tahoe. I loved reading about my own stomping grounds.

Great Story

I really liked this story. I also like most of the narration. The only part that was a little cringe was when the male narrator did his impression of the women. That was so bad! But it's only one Chapter I think. Not much time. Other than that, it was a great story, especially for a freebee.
