Historia
Psychologist Margot Scott has a picture-perfect life: a nice house in the suburbs, a husband, two children and a successful career. On a warm spring morning Margot approaches one of her clients on a busy train platform. He is looking down at his phone, with his duffel bag in hand as the train approaches. That’s when she slams into his back and he falls in front of the train. Margot’s clients all lie to her, but one lie cost her family and freedom.

I enjoyed the storyline very much. The narrator’s voice was a little annoying but storyline kept me interested.

Historia
In this first of three books inspired by the life of Josephine Bonaparte, Sandra Gulland has created a novel of immense and magical proportions. We meet Josephine in the exotic and lush Martinico, where an old island woman predicts that one day she will be queen. The journey from the remote village of her birth to the height of European elegance is long, but Josephine's fortune proves to be true.

Long suffering & tedious
Revisado: 02-08-24
I looked forward to this book with the upcoming release of the movie Napoleon. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. This is 14+ hours long...13 hours before you get to Josephine's introduction to Napoleon. The narration is monotone...many times I had to go back to hear pieces of the story because I had "zoned out" and had to make myself continue the book (kept thinking it had to get better).

When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

I tried to like this book....
Revisado: 01-16-23
I was excited to start this book after reading reviews but was very disappointed. The book is very long - almost 12 hours but the main character repeats herself throughout the book telling the same experiences over and over. The storyline drags and is monotonous. Story could be told in half the time. Main character was depressing - whining, crying and "pity party" about a bad marriage but in the end stays in the marriage.
For me it was a wasted 12 hours.
