Love this so much that I've listened to it twice already. Yes, it has its sad points; but such is life in war-time. The author tells Nancy's story, and that of so many others in spectacular fashion. The love between Nancy and her adored husband both warmed my heart and broke it. Don't pass this one by, well worth the listen.

Lusitania Lost...

A very different type of novel, and that's just not a compliment. The characters are amazing but undeveloped. In the end, the story is just left sunken like the beautiful ship. A sad disappointment really, as there was much more that could have been done with the story. Sure, room for a sequel but I have my doubts.

Has potential, but....

The story line has a lot of potential but isn't nearly as developed as it could be. There are huge gaps in the story line that could be filled in to make each section a full length novel. The characters are interesting enough but could be larger than life if the narration were better. The narration makes this novel very difficult to listen to on multiple levels. There are grammatical errors that are simply inexcusable, as well as pronunciation errors that made me want to scream. The words "subtle" and "maniacal" were absolutely butchered by the narrator. In 2017 & 2018, the technology exists to edit and thus correct such blatant errors. Background noises of mostly undetermined origin are very noticeable at several points, some of which could have been either children crying or a television. Again, editing could have corrected this. These errors, along with the narrator's near monotone voice left me unwilling to give this author or narrator another chance. Perhaps the author might look into hiring a few college students to narrate her next novel. I'm certain that they could inject more excitement into the adult content portion of the novel. Maybe an English major or someone who is majoring in Theater could muster enough excitement to help the listener feel more a part of the story instead of being like a deaf person getting the translation through sign language.

The narrator is absolutely monotonous.
Keep trying is all I can say.

So very sad. Disappointed that the story was left hanging with no apparent sequel to bring closure, but then again it is a tragedy and tragedy rarely lends itself to real closure.

another awesome novel
a bit heavier in the profanity department than most of Feehan's other work, but not inappropriate necessarily when one considers the plot of this one.
