Historia
The mighty, iconic A-10 Warthog was first thrust into battle in Operation Desert Storm. The men who took it through walls of flak and surface-to-air missiles to help defeat the world's fourth-largest army were as untested as their airplanes, so they relied on personal determination and the amazing A-10 to accomplish their missions, despite the odds.

I liked the story, the narrator was not bad. I love a good book that brings into the mind of character.

Good series, the story flows from book to book without leaving gaps, this is among the best series I have listened to.
Revisado: 08-01-24
The story stayed very consistent book after book, not leaving gaps like some series, and that created a continuous thread which made the books tie together nicely. The creativity of the elements was really good, and makes you think of all the subtleties which could lead you in so many different directions. I like a strong female lead, but it can be overdone if she becomes just belligerent, which I felt she did at times but overall great book series.

great whodunit
Revisado: 01-08-23
i enjoyed the read, well written, and pulls you into the story. character development was good, tho the protagonist annoyed me quite a bit. the narrator of an audiobook to me is key to the success. if they arent a good fit, it doesn't matter how good the story is. i know from listening to stories i know that were re- released with a different narrator and ruined the story. in this case he did a great job bringing the characters to life and giving them individuality so you could create them in your mind.
overall a great book, great read, I will be looking for more.

mixed feelings
Revisado: 12-22-22
i really really struggled to get through this series. if it weren't for the underlying story and the narrator, i would have given this 1 star. the main character spends most of the story lamenting everything. the self doubt, attitude, and continued whining drove me crazy. i try to give different writing styles and stories a chance, but this one defeated me. i understand the idea of a struggling character who overcomes so much to win the day, but this one never does, it's a rollercoaster of happy, then sad, crying, self loathing, etc. through the entire series. if you like this type of story you will love this book. i will finish with a compliment, the writer did build a good story sans the above comments, and the narrator saved me from ditching so many times with her ability to pull you into the story.

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

What a great listen...
Revisado: 11-08-22
i read mostly adventure, action and fantasy so i was skeptical it would keep my interest, but that quickly changed. the writing style kept pulling me in, with just enough to make you feel invested in the characters, and curious to find what was going to happen next. its not a fast moving book, but one that has this steady pull, moving you along with it. the last few chapters had me saying "what?" but what really makes or breaks and audiobook is the narrator. she does an awesome job, bringing life to the story in the way she reads, instead of the monotone. i will be looking for more books by this author, and narrator.

another Scott Siglar great!
Revisado: 05-05-22
i have enjoyed everything Scott has written, his style and attention to detail make his stories so good. his choice of subject matter has varied widely but never lost that quality. the only complaint i have ever had was when he stopped narrating his stories so this was a pleasant surprise. the story is of course signature Scott, and im looking forward to sequels of this one. anyone who hasnt should check out his other works, you wont be disappointed!

what an amazing story
Revisado: 03-03-22
this story really gives a first person view of the struggles of Jews and others that were deemed by the Nazis as unfit to live. it also shows how people can know of such things and turn a blind eye because dealing with it would be hard. i dont write many reviews but this book deserves to be experienced by everyone to remember how quickly things can spiral out of control and one man can wreak such pain and destruction. its a lesson we should never forget.
