Narrator needs more inflection
Revisado: 03-30-25
Story is really good and kept me listening long after these narrator began to bore me to tears. There is no change in the way he reads regardless whether it is an exciting scene or just filler. Almost as bland as computer narration.

Druid Wanted: No Experience NecessaryThe Valley of Nymis needs a druid. A distant, magical land is sick and dying. The corruption has spread to the beastfolk, and the elves have taken to worshipping a god of darkness. They need a druid. I need a job, and working outdoors sounds appealing. What they didn't tell me is that every other druid is now worm food. Guided by the attractive Kiyomi (a kitsune) I must reach the Heart of the Forest while learning what it means to be a druid and learning to cultivate, traveling through wilderness full of hostile beastfolk, goblins, harpies, and other ...

poor narration good story

This could be a good story but the computer narration tells the battle scenes with the same inflection as the passive scenes. Makes the story flat and boring

Predictable plot, acting was flar
Revisado: 01-16-25
Plot was formula, nothing original. Not much emotion in the narrative and the pauses were way too long. I thought T needed to check that my app was still working. Made it difficult to listen to so I quit in the middle

Good story but the narrator left something to be desired
Revisado: 12-31-24
The story is good, though there heroine had a strong tendency to make the worst possible decisions whenever possible. I do wish the narrator had made some attempt to preview the text and learn to pronounce the unfamiliar words. There are often 1 or 2 mispronounced words in any given book, but I lost count in this one. Sometimes she morphed there word into another that made no sense in there context

Story does not hold together
Revisado: 02-28-23
This could have been a really good series/ story but it lacks logic. It makes no sense for a dragon to rut to destroy humanity when dragons are completely dependent on human women to procreate. It just seems to be an excuse to beat the environmental drum which I found very irritating I live green butter don't want it shoved into my entertainment.

Good story Poor narration
Revisado: 11-06-22
I love Feehan, but really, there is no excuse for a professional (presumably) narrator to not do the research needed for the story. This narrator changed the pronunciation of virtually every name in this book. It is really irritating to have to stop and visualize the spelling of the name as he pronounces them and work back to how every other narrator pronounced them. Really spoiled the book for me. I'm sorry I got the audio, I would have far rather read it for myself

In Magic's Pawn, an ancient age in the history of Valdemar comes to life - an age when the kingdom was ravaged by the ungoverned fury of bandit warlords, ferocious ice dragons, and the wild magic of wizards. A new addition to Lackey's Valdemar kingdom - and her most powerful series to date!

Revisado: 09-17-22
I love Valdemar. My main criticism of all the aidio books is that the narrators don't research the previous works so that pronunciatons stay the same. It is very irritating that names and words specific to this series change from book to book

Great Story but
Revisado: 06-14-22
I love this entire series and there Vanyel saga does not disappoint. However, the narrator really needs to look up correct pronunciations, especially of terms referring to armor and fighting. Just thinking back, bodhrain, main gauche , chirogeon, etc Most irritating - merc is pronounced merk, not mers,
