Historia
Meditations is a series of personal writings by Marcus Aurelius, Roman Emperor from 161 to 180 AD, recording his private notes to himself and ideas on Stoic philosophy. Marcus Aurelius wrote the 12 books of the Meditations as a source for his own guidance and self-improvement. These books have been carefully adapted into modern English form to allow for easy listening. Enjoy!

I loved listening to this classic!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I probably would not have ever sat down to read Marcus Aurelius' Meditations in its entirety. This audio version allowed me to listen to the whole thing, and enjoy it as I did. Aurelius provides great wisdom that transcends generations.
If you could give Marcus Aurelius - Meditations a new subtitle, what would it be?
Everything I ever learned in my long life.

Historia
De Brevitate Vitae (frequently referred to as On the Shortness of Life in English) is a moral essay written by Seneca the Younger, a Roman Stoic philosopher, to his father-in-law Paulinus. The philosopher brings up many Stoic principles on the nature of time, namely that men waste much of it in meaningless pursuits. According to the essay, nature gives man enough time to do what is really important and the individual must allot it properly.

Classical thinking, yet so appropriate today
Revisado: 03-03-17
Would you consider the audio edition of On the Shortness of Life to be better than the print version?
Sometimes we think we don't have time to read the writings of famous dead people from 2000 years ago. But, this audio version makes it so easy to listen to. It is performed well, and the content is still so relevant.

Historia
Christian perfection - what is it? Many have debated the topic through the centuries, and yet, it is still an object of deep focus within many circles in the body of Christ. John Wesley has in A Plain Account of Christian Perfection beautifully described Christian perfection in a way that is practical and smart. A truly challenging book that will reveal areas of potential growth and maturity - even in the most advanced believer.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I've wanted to read John Wesley's ideas regarding Christian Perfection for a long time. I just couldn't bring myself to sit down and start. So, when I saw it available in audio, I jumped on it. And, I am glad I did. I can't say I agree with everything Wesley says, but this audio book made it very convenient to hear his thoughts.
Which character – as performed by Robert J. Shaw – was your favorite?
The quality of this audio book is top notch. Robert J. Shaw does a fantastic job.

This book is going to teach you how to overcome the obstacles that stand between you and succeeding in convincing others to your way of thinking. It will take a look at what arguing actually is in order to gain a better understanding of how to do it well and efficiently, tackle the prickly issue of just how ethical it is to persuade someone, and look at the different ways in which we fail in our arguments, both in winning and occasionally in reaching a decent resolution without devolving into fighting.

It's about more than just winning
Revisado: 01-26-17
What was one of the most memorable moments of Arguments: How to Persuade Others to Your Way of Thinking?
I was expecting to simply learn better ways to convince people I'm right. But, this book goes way deeper than that. The author reminds us that it's important to know why you are arguing in the first place. We're not just trying to win. We want to convince people of the truth.
