Historia
Opening with the young Clark Kent on a date, this novel takes an entirely fresh approach to the emergence of his superpowers and the start of his newspaper career, following him from rural 1930s Kansas across America to Hollywood in its golden age and then to New York City. He meets a worldly Lois Lane and conniving political boss Lex Luthor, and begins his battles against criminal masterminds, mad scientists, and super villains inspired by fascists.

I never thought a story about Superman could be boring
Revisado: 04-14-24
Clark Kent's confusion as he discovered his abilities is understandable. What was dull was hours of his time between leaving Smallville and arriving at the Daily Planet. The character both Clark and Lois Lane knew could have been much more interesting. We find out more about Lex Luther's backstory.
Finally, towards the end the story became interesting. The narration is superb by the incomparable Scott Brick.
I would not recommend this book to anyone except a hard-core Superman fan.

Daisy Flattery is a free spirit with a soft spot for strays and a weakness for a good story. Why else would she agree to the outrageous charade offered by her buttoned-down workaholic neighbor, Linc Blaise? The history professor needs to have a fiancée in order to capture his dream job, and Daisy is game to play the role. But something funny happens on their way to the altar that changes everything.

This is one of my favorite audiobooks because Linc & Daisy are Polar opposites of each other. It's a sweet story and I highly recommend it.

Historia
When veteran war reporter Benjamin Hall woke up in Kyiv on the morning of March 14, 2022, he had no idea that, within hours, Russian bombs would nearly end his life. As a journalist for Fox News, Hall had worked in dangerous war zones like Syria and Afghanistan, but with three young daughters at home, life on the edge was supposed to be a thing of the past. Yet when Russia viciously attacked Ukraine in February 2022, Hall quickly volunteered to go. A few weeks later, while on assignment, Hall and his crew were blown up in a Russian strike.

Revisado: 05-07-23
I'm so glad the author narrated his story of his life, recovery, and thriving life. After watching Benjamin Hall's reporting I missed his reporting until the explosion was announced. I'm very glad he's back working & his family is doing well.
I highly recommend this book

should have chosen another time
Revisado: 03-12-22
Once the story veered into disrespect of Christianity I was deeply disappointed. I thought the first book was original and clever though I did find his historical ignorance disconcerting. There are many pivotal periods he could have chosen instead of taking a contemptuous attitude towards the faith of millions.

Daisy always gets her man
Revisado: 10-30-21
It's an entertaining story and once again Daisy gets her villian. This time she and Akex are in America.
I did wonder about the pronunciation of one of the barnstormers they meet. If his name is spelled Hiram, then the pronunciation should be Hi-ram, not He-ram. Otherwise, it was entertaining wish a mad chase for the culprit.

Historia
Charlotte McBee knows she’s in for a challenge when she accepts a job as midwife for a dragon and a phoenix shifter. Being a fairy herself, it isn’t the supernatural world that scares her. It’s the thought of delivering a giant metal dragon’s egg, which has her gritting her teeth in pain for poor Jillian, the anxious mother-to-be. While preparing for the big event, a handsome town resident catches her eye. Leonard is kind, charming, and a little bit mysterious. He’s also suffering from a highly unusual condition brought on by an ancient fairy curse.

Dragon Egg and Fae can work wonders
Revisado: 02-07-21
Loved it, but then I adore everything Molly Harper writes. Mystic Bayou is a magical town filled with supernatural creatures and humans. This story has new dragon-phoenix birth as well as new romance.
Amanda Ronconi and Jonathan Davis are two of the best narrators around. As usual, they did a stellar job. Both are excellent at mens and womens voices and accents.
I recommend this novella to anyone looking for a fun read/listen. For anyone who hasn't read Molly Harper one book won't be enough. Luckily, she's written many books. I'm looking forward to Molly's next book.

Historia
In the 1920s, in post - World War I England, the Honorable Daisy Dalrymple, newly engaged to Detective Inspector Alec Fletcher, is asked by her brother-in-law to discreetly investigate a series of poisoned pen letters that many of the local villagers have been receiving. When the pompous and unbearable brother of the local vicar is killed by a very large rock, dropped on his head from a great height, it seems clear to all that this campaign of gossip has escalated to murder.

another installment about Daisy
Revisado: 10-27-20
I like this series and meeting people in Daisy Dalrymple's orbit. This one involves Daisy's sister and brother-in-law. She takes Akec's daughter with her. Later, Alec helps the Inspector with the case.
The one unbelievable part of the story related to Daisy and Alec's argument. It was quite a fight, but the resolution was not believable.
I'm looking forward to the next book.

Revisado: 05-27-20
One recovery specialist and one stepdaughter join forces to find out if Eli, the stepfather, is a criminal. The romance heats up between Jake and Steph.
The narration is very good. Sebastion York is an excellent narrator. I've listened to several he's done.
Abruptly, the book ends with a cliffhanger. The story continues in The Sapphire Heist.

Jamie & Claire's lives continues
Revisado: 03-14-20
The saga of Jamie & Claire continues. They at last have a home of their own in the backcountry of the North Carolina colony. Naturally, they encounter many obstacles. Brianna goes back in time to warn her parents of doom. In the process she gets to know her father, Jamie. Roger discovers Brianna went to her parents, so he follows. Towards the end of the book Claire encounters a situation where a dirk would be handy. I wonder if she'll carry one again as she did in Outlander.
I wondered why a few scenes were in the book. They didn't seem to relate to anything else other than to be interesting side trips.
As usual, Davina Porter is divine. I can not imagine any other narrator for the Outlander series.
I did enjoy the book. After all, it's part of the Outlander saga. Claire & Jamie have built a family with numerous friends. I'm glad Ms. Gabaldon invested time in their development and their stories.
