Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Great Story and Narration

Really enjoyed it. Everything you want from a fiction book. It pulls you in and you care about everyone. Some things felt a little unresolved so I would pay for an epilogue. lol.

Historia
When New York Times bestselling author Jon Acuff got curious about tapping into his full potential, he launched a research study with Dr. Mike Peasley. They asked more than three thousand people if they felt they were living up to their full potential. Fifty percent of people reported that 50 percent of their full potential is untapped. That means half of us are walking around with half-lives. No wonder Twitter is so grumpy.

As always Excellent
Revisado: 01-30-24
This one is about creating momentum towards accomplishing goals.
I am coming away from it with a desire to be more intentional in repeat activities that work towards a larger goal (what he calls “middle goals”)
And
To intentionally build in “easy goals” into my days to salvage the feeling of “ehhhh” that comes with a day that got hijacked by a big project.
I always come away from Jon’s books smiling and grateful that I get to share the earth with him and his work.

Using the exact steps you’ll learn in this book, Donald Miller grew his small business from four employees working out of a basement to a 15 million dollar operation, increasing revenue sixfold in just six years. As Miller grew his own business from the ground up, he realized nobody had put together a simple, step-by-step playbook for growing a business. That book didn’t exist. Until now. In this book, you’ll learn the 6 steps to grow a successful small business and create a playbook to implement them—your Flight Plan.

It was good but leans more full on business than side hustle
Revisado: 05-13-23
This is the first time I have felt like Donald Miller’s books didn’t hit dead center for me. I really loved business made simple, building a storybrand, and Marketing Made Simple. This book felt like it was more for a functioning, small business owner, who is leading the small business as their full-time job.
As a freelancer, making less than 20 K a year, a decent chunk of the book simply didn’t apply to me. That’s fine, but if you are a freelancer, reading this review, deciding if you should buy the book, I would go with one of the other ones that I listed first. The benefit of this one is that he revisits some of the concepts from the other ones, in a way that is a little more clear and more actionable. However, the product optimization section is excellent for anyone.
My only other criticism would be that this book feels more lead generator like than anything else. Donald Miller has created.
It just feels like he wrote the book to push people towards the six week challenge or the subscription platform. Part of what made building a storybrand great was that it was an end in its own right. I am not sure if this makes sense, but they were parts of the book that felt almost completely designed as a step in a funnel.
When I went to use the online tools that were created to go along with it, you have to pay to export.
Again, this isn’t a killer because you can do everything without paying for the platform and the platform probably doesn’t exist or without the ability to monetize it, but it was a little disappointing.
All in all, a good book. But I was very excited for it And felt like it was probably my least favorite thing that Donald Miller has created.
With that said, Donald Miller is among the best business authors out there and is able to condense information into clear and actionable steps. So despite being Donald Miller’s worst, it may be one of the best business books.

If you implement even one tactic in this book, you’ll see the change in your prospects' demeanor. And you’ll know the $100M Offers method worked when you start hearing, “What do I need to do to move forward?” before you even ask for the sale.

Developing video games—hero's journey or fool's errand? The creative and technical logistics that go into building today's hottest games can be more harrowing and complex than the games themselves, often seeming like an endless maze or a bottomless abyss. In Blood, Sweat, and Pixels, Jason Schreier takes listeners on a fascinating odyssey behind the scenes of video game development, where the creator may be a team of 600 overworked underdogs or a solitary geek genius.

This is a book ABOUT marketing that doesn’t teach you to market. It simply acknowledges the forces that are at play! With a mix of sociology and fun anecdotes, the author weaves together a fun and engaging experience

Historia
It was long ago, but not as long as it seems: The Berlin Wall fell and the Twin Towers collapsed. In between, one presidential election was allegedly decided by Ross Perot while another was plausibly decided by Ralph Nader. Landlines fell to cell phones, the internet exploded, and pop culture accelerated without the aid of technology that remembered everything. It was the last era with a real mainstream to either identify with or oppose. The ’90s brought about a revolution in the human condition, and a shift in consciousness, that we’re still struggling to understand.

Went surprisingly fast.
Revisado: 04-13-22
Took me a minute to get into the book but once I did I was surprised by how fast it went. A great historical and fun look at a decade I didn’t live through even though I technically did (born in 89)
CK does a great job at weaving in the ways in which the 90s have shaped thought and culture. Just an excellent book all the way through.

Now, for the first time, Seth Godin offers the core of his marketing wisdom in one compact, accessible, and timeless package. This Is Marketing shows you how to do work you're proud of, whether you're a tech start-up founder, a small-business owner, or part of a large corporation. Great marketers don't use consumers to solve their company's problem; they use marketing to solve other people's problems. Their tactics rely on empathy, connection, and emotional labor instead of attention-stealing ads. When done right, marketing seeks to make change in the world.

Great book that is for some reason read very slow
Revisado: 05-21-21
I’ll be honest: I returned this book because the reading pace was SO SLOW that it was impossible to remain engaged. I was so confused. I read other reviews and wondered how I could hate something t that other people loved. I texted friends who liked Seth and asked for help. Finally I rebought the book and sped it up to 1.3x. BOOM. that was it. I was in a lovely world of knowledge and insight
