The story is not what is listed. This is not a millionaire boss story but rather workplace story about competitors that fall in love after they both attend the same conference.

The FMC has a complete lack of a backbone I was literally screaming at the FMC.

The virtual recording is well done.

This is my top listen of 2024 so far. This is so well written with characters I genuinely cared about. The pacing was perfect. Enought suspense to drive things but enough coziness to make this cozy reader happy.

The narration was fantastic and fit each character well. I am also someone that listens on 2.5 speed and the recording did not become distorted like it does with some.

This is my favorite Series but the Female Narrator destroyed any enjoyment of the book. I ended up reading instead of listening as it was so horrible and distracting. It felt juvenile.

This could easily be considered a Stephen King short story but there is so much packed in it is an ideal piece of literature. The book driven by the dialogue between the three main characters. You feel like you are sitting at the table with them considering the options and whiteboarding ideas together to find an identity of one main. In fact, you feel the drive by the characters to find out who he is rather than why he died. It is such a different take on a murder mystery it makes it captivating.

James Herriot's writing is a modern classic everyone should read. He brings the Yorkshire Dales to life. We meet so many fully envisioned characters. You feel like you are riding along with Dr. Herriot on farm calls.

Christopher Timothy brings the reading to life. His familiar voice from the television series draws us into the story.

This series just keeps getting better. I stalk audible waiting for the next release in the series.

Getting to know the characters has been great. If you have been a long time listener to the Cherringham series I want to assure you the same great stories continue. There has been no drop in quality as the series. Neil Dudgeon makes the books as the narrator. Because of his talent I have such a clear picture of Cherringham and all of the people in the village.

I love the 3 book bundles.

I am a big fan of the original recording of Ms. Pilcher's, Winter Solstice recorded by Lynn Redgrave. I have yet to find its equal in story quality and narrator. This story comes extremely close. The narration exceeds my expectations and Lucy does an amazing job of conveying both character and exposition with clear difference. The characters are ones you enjoy getting to know and hearing more about. The story is slightly predictable but that is one of the charms of the whole thing.

This one had great potential but never really took off. A lot of filler that just made the story messy. There were so many miscellaneous characters that did not add anything to the story. No clear profession in the story or build up. It was suddenly solved and then over. I still have no idea how we got there. No real crime solving occurred.

The narrator is what kept me listening.

If you could sum up Dog on It in three words, what would they be?

Border Collie Fun

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It actually did! I worried about Chet and his misadventures.

Which scene was your favorite?

"I barked. He barked. I barked. He barked. I barked. He barked...."

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed constantly. This entire book is a mystery told through the view of a dog. I got really anxious when Chet was hurt.

Any additional comments?

Jim Frangione made this book. He brought it to life. Spencer Quinn is a genius at how he writes but without Jim to execute it could have misfired. Jim hits this perfectly.
