The FMC was awful.
Revisado: 05-06-25
Not the narration part her character was awful, the dialogue between her and other characters was terrible. Honestly if she was a real person no one would bother with her. The MMC was great and he deserved a better quality match.
Liked the earlier books. Hopefully the last one is good.

Historia
I’m falling for the father of the baby I’m carrying. The problem is: it’s not my baby. And the broody widower is not looking for a long-term partner. As a surrogate, the deal was that I’d only be in England long enough to give birth. At first, the man seemed as pretentious as his name: Sigmund Benedictus. He and I butted heads. Sig challenged my intentions, accused me of just wanting to do this for the money. Gradually, he learned to trust me.

Kinda a let down
Revisado: 02-10-25
I was excited because Jacob but that was the only redeeming part of this book. The store was on the lame side, the female narrator was ok but when she changed her voice to portray other characters it was cringy. I forced myself to finish listening because I paid for it but it was hard to get through.

Historia
Charming, easygoing, and rich beyond belief, Xavier Castillo has the world at his fingertips. He also has no interest in taking over his family’s empire (much to his father’s chagrin), but that hasn’t stopped women from throwing themselves at him…unless the woman in question is his publicist. Nothing brings him more joy than riling her up, but when a tragedy forces them closer than ever, he must grapple with the uncertainty of his future—and the realization that the only person immune to his charms is the only one he truly wants.

Unnecessary wordy
Revisado: 01-16-25
This is book 4 of the series. Books 1 & 3 are great but book 2 and this book, #4 King of Sloth are meh at best. I found this one to be especially wordy in a way that you stop paying attention because it’s just a bit much. While I usually like this author, this one is not worth the credit in my opinion.

The male narrator killed it
Revisado: 01-12-25
The first one was so great, this one….. not so much.
The story left something to be desired and the male narrator was barely listenable.

Revisado: 01-11-25
You know when you’re so into a book that half way through you start getting sad because you know it’s going to end and you just love it so much….. that’s this book. It’s half way in and I am in love. I’m already dreading it coming to an end.

Loved this series but the “Maine accent” was cringe.
Revisado: 10-31-24
Loved all 3 books. Honestly couldn’t get enough of them. As much as I love XE as a narrator, I was happy to hear that the MC was a different narrator this time. I really did enjoy it all except the narrator’s Maine accent was awful and so cringe. Mentally I knew it was supposed to be a Maine accent but it sounded more like the narrator had some speech impediments and a mouth full of marbles.

Awful narration, seriously does anyone like virtual narration? It’s straight trash! There should be a way to filter out virtual narration.

Historia
Emerson, Georgia, and Marley have been best friends ever since they met at a weight-loss camp as teens. When Emerson tragically passes away, she leaves one final wish for her best friends: to conquer the fears they still carry as adults. For Marley, it's coming to terms with the survivor's guilt she's carried around since her twin sister's death, which has left her blind to the real chance for romance in her life. For Georgia, it's learning to stop trying to live up to her mother's and brother's ridiculous standards and learning to accept love.

I was angry when it ended
Revisado: 10-07-24
This book 100% needs a follow up book. By the end you are so in love with the characters that you just want to keep following along with their lives.
I loved having a story line from 3 different perspectives. The actor that played Marley is phenomenal. She does an amazing job. I felt the actor that played Georgia didn’t live up the character and missed the mark.
I literally laughed out loud and ugly cried. So so good.

The story was ok but narration was rough
Revisado: 08-10-24
Over all the story was ok but dragged out a bit too long. At times it was overly wordy in a way that didn’t add to the story and at times detracted from it.
The female narrator was rough and her attempt at accents was cringe and made it difficult. The male narrator did a much better job.
At about 30 hours in I was kinda over it but already had so much time invested that I felt I had to see it through to the end.

All her life, Andie Mitchell had eaten lustily and mindlessly. Food was her babysitter, her best friend, her confidant, and it provided a refuge from her fractured family. But when she stepped on the scale on her 20th birthday and it registered a shocking 268 pounds, she knew she had to change the way she thought about food and herself; that her life was at stake.

Well done
Revisado: 06-20-22
Overall I enjoyed the book. It was well read. I times I found the author to be a bit wordy and that felt less from the heart then other parts of the story ( but also whom I to decide what came from the heart of a person I don’t know). Anyways, I think it was an honest story about someone’s struggles with food and weight. I appreciate that it was real, like most mental health issues, it isn’t black and white and there is no clear line of recovery. As someone who struggles with food and weight I appreciated that it was honest and real in that this will be something we work on the rest of our lives.
