Limited level of information and repetition. For example, the need for protection of patient data, clearly an important topic, but there is no need to repeated and repeated this.
Regular mention of the use of the Metaverse but no example of how this benefits the medical process over regular tools like a Teams video call.
Statements about settings where Chat GPT and other AI tools are use but no indication how the physical interactions between patient and healthcare provider are addressed.

Length of an article, not a book. Examples are flawed, tone is condescending. I would not recommend.

Artificial Intelligence is likely to greatly increase our aggregate wealth, but it will also upend our labor markets, reshuffle our social order, and strain our private and public institutions. Eventually it may alter how we see our place in the universe, as machines pursue goals independent of their creators and outperform us in domains previously believed to be the sole dominion of humans.

Good overview does, likely has to, assume wide technical background. If you don't have that background areas of the book are hard to follow. However it still have me a good idea of how it works, worth listening too

I have read / listened too many books on AI. This is the first that provided such a clear understanding of the difference between narrow and general AI and why moving from narrow to general AI is far from a slam dunk The book provides many useful examples. It also provides a possible route map to general AI. I thoroughly enjoyed listening, great.

Revisado: 04-25-21
This book provides great insight into the various time thieves. Some of what it covers is obvious once you've read it but you need to read / listen to the book to see the obvious. I think this book works well with "Project to Product" they cover different but over lapping topics.

Historia
As Nobel Prize-winning economist Ronald Coase once cynically observed, "If you torture data long enough, it will confess." Lying with statistics is a time-honored con. In Standard Deviations, economics professor Gary Smith walks us through the various tricks and traps that people use to back up their own crackpot theories. Sometimes, the unscrupulous deliberately try to mislead us. Other times, the well-intentioned are blissfully unaware of the mischief they are committing.

Some great content, to many examples
Revisado: 10-09-20
I found this book very informative. It gave me a great insight into stats. The only problem was that it provided to many examples of the incorrect usage of stats. If it was halved one would still get the great content.

The fruit of the long history of John Brockman's profound engagement with the most important scientific minds who have been thinking about AI - from Alison Gopnik and David Deutsch to Frank Wilczek and Stephen Wolfram - Possible Minds is an ideal introduction to the landscape of crucial issues AI presents. The collision between opposing perspectives is salutary and exhilarating; some of these figures are deeply concerned with the threat of AI, including the existential one, while others have a very different view.

Mixed bag
Revisado: 04-17-20
This book is made up of 20 odd separate essays . I really enjoyed a number of them as they gave insight in AI. The others were for me very theoretical and had less to do with AI as opposed to theories about how people work and Interact. No doubt this is linked to AI but not in the way the articles that I found useful because they spoke directly to AI.
Having said that, people with other interests will no doubt really enjoy the articles I did not and visa versa.
