Historia
The preaching of the truth, brother, and the confession of Orthodoxy is more needful for us than everything else, and we must make this confession before all mankind. For this is the foundation of all who believe. On account of this confession Peter was called blessed and was appointed to bear the keys of the kingdom of God. Paul, too, bore the hope of receiving the crown of life, since he kept and preached the faith. Indeed, the whole choir of the saints who did likewise and finished the race well has been glorified. We must also build up our neighbor, as much as we are able.

A pastoral gift
Revisado: 01-17-25
St. Symeon's exhortations and encouragements refresh the soul. He covers so many topics that are still matters of confusion to this day. I was making many comparisons to things I encounter in my own life as I listened, and many issues I have for which I need to pray to God for mercy. The translation to English seems natural and readable, with a reverent tone appropriate for the content. Fr. Josiah Trenham blesses listeners with his warm, full-bodied, and clear reading voice.

Immediately pragmatic and applicable
Revisado: 10-04-23
I started listening and quickly realized I only want to listen with a pen and journal next to me so I can make notes for all the useful perspectives that Scott offers. He offers what could help and leaves it at that. Very refreshing to hear wisdom shared like this that I can implement immediately in my self-talk and actions. The narrator's voice provides you a non-judmental, assuring, and friendly tone you would want to listen when considering your life choices. Perfect casting and performance for this kind of book.

Historia
Join Professor David Brakke, an award-winning Professor of History at The Ohio State University, for Understanding the New Testament. In these 24 eye-opening lectures, he takes you behind the scenes to study not only the text of the New Testament, but also the authors and the world in which it was created. You will explore Jewish lives under Roman occupation, reflect on the apocalyptic mood of the first and second centuries AD, witness the early Christians’ evangelism beyond the Jewish communities, and witness the birth of a faith that continues to shape our world today.

Brakke (PhD) offers well-rounded New Testament 101
Revisado: 05-31-23
I read a review that seemed to dislike Brakke's personal views, which he sometimes offers as a matter of his own expert opinion, but what I appreciated was that he offers the spectrum of views Christians have taken about their beloved New Testament from the time it was written to now. As a part-time/amateur Bible scholar I felt like I was in the lecture hall, eager to hear the next lecture as soon as the first was completed. I have more questions for Professor Brakke than I have answers from his comprehensive introductory presentation of the historical background, interpretations, and summaries of the New Testament. I would recommend this lecture series to anyone who wanted to take a step into the critical scholarism of the New Testament as well as for anyone who wants a solid overview of New Testament books. I appreciate that Professor Brakke does not tell the listener what to think. His summaries of the books and topics have depth but don't bog you down with too many details. We are offered a guide through the text, but also avenues of inquiry and study to pursue on our own. I was digging into questions I had as I would pause between listening, on my own time. I hope others enjoy this lecture series and that it spurs them on to their own research and investigation of the New Testament text.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

Every leader must be ready and willing to take charge, to make hard, crucial calls for the good of the team and the mission. Something much more difficult to understand is that in order to be a good leader, one must also be a good follower. This is a dichotomy - a Dichotomy of Leadership. It is, as authors Jocko Willink and Leif Babin explained in their best-selling first audiobook, Extreme Ownership, “Simple, Not Easy”.

Historia
Fumio Sasaki is not an enlightened minimalism expert or organizing guru like Marie Kondo - he's just a regular guy who was stressed out and constantly comparing himself to others, until one day he decided to change his life by saying goodbye to everything he didn't absolutely need. The effects were remarkable: Sasaki gained true freedom, new focus, and a real sense of gratitude for everything around him.

Life-Changer
Revisado: 05-25-18
This audiobook is a life-changer if you let it be. Parts of it were therapeutic exercises, like when hearing of the author's experiences, relating to them, and seeing through them a path of hope going forward into the next moment. Parts of the book are full of sheer practicality and simple steps one can take right now in order to declutter and ultimatelt minimalize. I find myself already thinking about things differently and more essentially within days of starting this book. It is strange to be beholden to physical objects and yet not have realized it this whole time. I recommend this audiobook for the content and the narrator's gruffly simple voice and inflection, which fit perfectly the tone of the text. I am so inspired right now, that if I didn't have this book on the cloud, I would discard the physical copy immediately to someone who could use it.
