Historia
Acheron Colony was supposed to be humanity's greatest windfall. Using long-range sensors, the planet tested out as a super-Earth—but the reality is frightening. Instead of a green world bursting with life, the colonists find a dead rock covered in ash. Something has dismantled every organic molecule on Acheron—and no one knows how or why. When a mysterious signal that defies explanation begins to pulse from an alien ruin, the colonists panic. Something ancient was here long before them, and the signal, like a heartbeat, won't let them forget it.

Not up to B.V’s standards
Revisado: 04-03-25
Meh, I have enjoyed all of his other books but this one just doesn’t seem to click like his other ones. I listened to the first one and wasn’t impressed but decided to try the second to give it a real chance. if anything the next one was even more disappointing. Love the narrator as usual but this story seems disjointed and I will not be listening to the next one.

Historia
The man they took prisoner was not the Jonathan Tibbs they remembered. He said that time was running out. That the world faced an enemy it could not defeat. He said everything depended on whether or not they could make a leap of faith. Then, he asked them for five nuclear warheads. The Never Army is the final installment in The Chronicles of Jonathan Tibbs - a mind-bending, genre-crossing, multiple award-winning, action-adventure trilogy.

Just got stupid!!!
Revisado: 06-22-24
It just seemed like the author couldn’t come up with any good ideas so he just got stupider and stupider with bad ideas. Don’t get me wrong. I like a lot of his other stuff and I like the first couple of books but this just meet my expectations or even close. Feel like I wasted my money but this one.

He did his best to raise her right. He made certain she was well-educated. He picked a reasonably decent culture for her to grow up in. I love the Night Lord Series, but this story was almost not worth listening to. I say that because the whole premise is that she doesn’t want to kill this guy but allows him to murder thousands of innocents by playing her games!!!! Meh…. Can’t wait for the next Night Lord story!!!!

Meh
Revisado: 09-17-22
The author put too much of his own politics into this one. It would’ve been much better had he not used phrases like the decaying land of freedom referring to the United States. It was obvious from the start that this person had politics that leaned heavily against the United States and men for that matter. I shall never read anything or listen to anything from this author again.

Could have been so much better!!
Revisado: 09-09-22
It could’ve been much better if they hadn’t included their obvious distain for the United States. The ONLY country in the The entire world that I had an issue with this group was the United States. I get it there are many people within the United States government that have their own agendas but the entire government? There are no good people in the US GOV? That really ruined the story for me. Please, China, North Korea, take your pick….,

Narrarator horrible!
Revisado: 11-13-21
Well, I'm unsure why they changed narrators, but this guy is very dry and uninspired! The story is still good, but it is always irritating when they change from a great reader to a new one that just isn't good in this story. Perhaps he is good in other stories but NOT this one!

Historia
Those on the side of progressing humanity through advanced technology have finally triumphed over their oppressors. The unholy war between the small but mighty island realm of Charis and the radical, luddite Church of God's Awaiting has come to an end. However, even though a provisional veil of peace has fallen over human colonies, the quiet will not last. For Safehold is a broken world, and as international alliances shift and Charis charges on with its precarious mission of global industrialization, the shifting plates of the new world order are bound to clash.

Meh, Listened to ALL the other books but I'm Done
Revisado: 02-17-21
Weber had a great concept and in the first 5 or 6 books did well but he seemed to run out of ideas and simply delved in to torture and useless detail that didn't enhance the story line at all. In fact IMHO it simply made me skip much because I got tired of hearing about how someone was burned to death in screaming agony. I get it, Clinton was horrible but he could have simply stated that they died horribly and skipped much of the gory descriptors. Also there was MUCH the "heroes" could have done to avoid so many deaths by simple things such as a few hidden explosions in powder magazines. Finally In this book I thought he would move on to some preparations for Merlin's actual goal of fighting the aliens but no, they had to delve into a drawn out civil war with the serfs! They could have again not wasted our time and simply stated that they had a bloody civil war and this was the out come but I guess he wants to make money and forgo the quality. As I said I did enjoy the concept and initial books but I am DONE with David Weber! He throws a tantrum and replaces the Narrator??? Grow Up!!!

What price victory? The war with the Republic of Haven has resumed . . . disastrously for the Star Kingdom of Manticore. Admiral Lady Dame Honor Harrington, Steadholder and Duchess Harrington, the single victorious Allied commander of the opening phase of the new war, has been recalled from the Sidemore System to command Eighth Fleet. Everyone knows Eighth Fleet is the Alliance's primary offensive command, which makes it the natural assignment for the woman the media calls "the Salamander."

Revisado: 04-02-20
The people in this book claim to be honorable but most seem not to care that they are being stupid and allowing their people to die because they can’t get past their own stupidity and pride! This just keeps repeating over and over again!
Simply can’t listen any longer!
