Terrible, awful, really bad narration. I've wanted to level a review since I listened to a sample of this book weeks ago. So thank you whoever made it a free read. The story is an excellent follow up to Blind Spot. But you would never know that when listening to this atrocious virtual voice process. Flat, emotionless, timeless, mispronounced words. I wish there had been a way to leave a review on how terrible I thought it was when I had listened to the sample. Then I would not have had to subject my ears to this butchery of an otherwise perfectly enjoyable book. Anyone who has not listened to this yet. Save yourself the time and bother. You cannot un-hear how terrible this is. Another Olivia Gaines title savaged by this digital voice process.

This narration was the best

I have listened to the 3 books in this series. And without a doubt they were all good. But, from my point of view, Adjou Andoh set the bar so high with this story that the narrator of the 2 remaining titles was merely good. Ms. Andoh infused each character with such depth, and her rhythm and intonation of each word, phrase and sentence had me completely engaged. I've seen some reviews to the contrary. I can only say I politely disagree. So completely was I taken by this narration. That when I listened to the other 2 stories, my mind missed her rendition of reoccurring characters. Especially grandmother GiGi. Gigi had a far more enjoyable quality to her when voiced by Ms. Andoh. I completely believed that she was THE grand diva and matriarch of the Brown family. I enjoy Ms. Hibbert's writing. Her storytelling is always engaging. This title is now absolutely on my repeat listening list. A total favorite 😍

I hope that this is not a sign of how this author's work will be treated in the audio book format. This couldn't be a worse offering if the production team/person tried.

Another Virtual Voice Ouch

I sense that there is a cute little story here. But can't be sure because of the unfortunate choice of virtual voice for narration. To be charitable I will conceed that the tone was not awful. It is tempo, misstated words, that ruins the experience.

This is another example of a story that could have been enjoyable if it had not befallen the travesty of virtual voice. When will this awful practice stop. If this is the choice of some authors, they would do well to reconsider.

I liked this book from start to finish. When I chose this book I didn't know what to expect. This author is new to me, so I was taking a chance. Thankfully I was pleasantly surprised. The storyline and the narrator were on point. It makes me want to read the stories of the seven other siblings. Quite enjoyable.

Virtual voice has rendered this book awful. Incorrect words. Bad tempo. Choppy sentences. I hope that the next time I encounter this author's work in audio firmat, better care has been taken to secure the narrator.

Awful 😖 narration

Was the story good? Did the plot make sense? Were the characters well developed? Whi can tell with it all being buried beneath the 🤮 yuck that is virtual voice. How much longer are we the listeners going to be subjected to this horrible practice? Just yuck.

Favorite Audiobook of the Series

I truly enjoy this Dark Protector series. I have listened to all of them. However this is my favorite. It hits all the right notes. The story is an excellent continuation of the Reese brothers story. It is funny and action packed. Karen White excelled in her narration performance. This is a book that I will gladly listen to more than once. Two thumbs 👍👍 up.

More Virtul Voice Yuck!

I am a fan of Kenya Wright. I have purchased several of her titles and have enjoyed listening to them whenever the become available. EXCEPT NOW. Alas Ms. Wright's excellent work has fallen victim to the travesty that is virtual voice. This process forces the listener to listen past the lifeless tones and lack of inflection at the necessary moments of the storyline. Making it a total drudge to listen to the entire thing. I am so glad I didn't buy this. I hope that this is not an indication of how Ms. Wright's books will be narrated going forward. If so I will have to stick to her ebooks.
