Historia
THE TRUE CRIME CLASSIC THAT STARTED IT ALL. NOW REISSUED. Richard W. Larsen’s expose, based on first-hand conversations with the killer himself, remains the granddaddy Bundy book of them all – even inspiring a hit miniseries, starring Mark Harmon, that riveted America for weeks. Now BUNDY: THE DELIBERATE STRANGER returns to mark the 30th anniversary of the execution of America’s most famous serial killer. Between 1974 and 1978 a series of brutal sex slayings claimed the lives of nearly forty innocent young women and left a trail of blood that stretched from Seattle, Washington to ...

Fantastic book - TERRIBLE VIRTUAL VOICE
Revisado: 02-14-25
This is a GREAT story, however the robot reader doesn’t know how to pronounce many common words, and even pauses in an awkward spot. I’d get this again in a heartbeat if a HUMAN records it. I was anxious to get this title, so I got it regardless of the AI, but seriously, I’ll never get another Audible robo-book again :( Was too distracting.

Historia
Chicago during the Gaslight Era was a place that embodied both the elegance of America’s Gilded Age and the vice, crime, and sin of the most corrupt city in the country. During the 1880s and early 1890s, Chicago was home to killers, thieves, gamblers, con artists, and whores–and hosted perhaps the greatest World’s Fair in our nation’s history. It was to this place that a man named H.H. Holmes was drawn like a moth to the flame, and Chicago embraced him as one of its own.

I enjoyed this format…the story sprinkled with music from the time period. The narrator voice was perfect for this. Low and slow! I liked listening to this at night in the dark! Really set the mood!

Minimalism is not for everyone. It requires discipline and an open mind. Living a minimalist lifestyle means getting out of your comfort zone and taking action. Many people are overwhelmed with all the things going on in their lives and cannot seem to to find a clear path to getting started. This book provides you with step-by-step instructions on how to declutter your home, office, computer, smartphone, and ultimately your mind in less than a day. A strange young man, Barry Clinton. Unlike most young missionaries, who came to the island to save souls, this one had come with a belligerent skepticism and a driving determination to battle sickness and starvation. He had come to the Ile du Vent with a Bible and a few meager medical supplies - ready to make the little Caribbean island a better place in which to live.

Although not very long, this short story had me chuckling quite often. I thought the narration was well done too. I think this is definitely better as an audiobook :-) I like that diary reading format!

Sweaty Palms!
Revisado: 10-20-21
This one had me riveted! Your hands will sweat as you put yourself in Floyd Collins place while you listen - as he lie trapped underground in a tiny cramped cave for WEEKS! Barely able to move. The ongoing news media and public actions during the attempted rescue will leave you shocked. Some things never change. Even nearly 100 years later. Worth listening to more than once.

Revisado: 03-22-21
This audiobook was verrry graphic and horrific! I found myself gasping Holy Cow! (similar words) I listened to this a SECOND TIME as well, since it was SO packed with details, that I wanted MORE! And it was just as fresh during that repeat listen! The narrator was excellent and easy to listen to! I liked him a lot. I was given this for free in exchange for my opinion - and I’m glad I gave this one a chance. I MIGHT have overlooked it due to its rather shortish length...but it’s really PACKED with information that makes up for that! You’ll probably find yourself listening to this one a second time too.

Her Wonderful Rose Garden . . .
Revisado: 12-25-19
This might be one of my favorite Ryan Green books so far! It’s amazing how much you can get away with when you’re nice, sweet and VERY helpful to those around you! Quite convenient if you ALSO happen to be in the business of knocking off the sick and elderly that get government checks. And she did it without hardly batting an eyelash it seems. Done. Nexxxxxt. She apparently didn’t have a care in the world or even consider that she’d ever get caught. Im sure her rose garden must have looked absolutely stunning with all that ahem....natural fertilizer.
I thoroughly enjoyed how this story was told. Never a dull moment, it just rolled along wonderfully. The trivial details that set the scene truly make it come to life! The narrator is most pleasant, and makes it easy to listen to despite the subject matter.
I was gifted this in exchange for a review - and if I had used a credit, I still would NOT have had any regrets. I liked this, and will for SURE listen to it again! Especially if my roses start looking poorly . . .
