Historia
Alma Cruz, the celebrated writer at the heart of The Cemetery of Untold Stories, doesn’t want to end up like her friend, a novelist who fought so long and hard to finish a book that it threatened her sanity. So when Alma inherits a small plot of land in the Dominican Republic, her homeland, she has the beautiful idea of turning it into a place to bury her untold stories—literally. She creates a graveyard for the manuscript drafts and revisions, and the characters whose lives she tried and failed to bring to life and who still haunt her.

I love every story here, all held together by the main one.

Another great book by Julia Alvarez. I’m undecided if this or “The Time of the Butterflies” is the best, but both are amazing, and in my opinion, her best.

Nice characters
Revisado: 02-03-24
I have already listen for four of five of the series, I am enjoying it. I like the Kendra series better.
Also, not sure if I will keep going with the series, they should already know about how easy is to kidnap them, and how much Kara gets taken. 🤷🏻♀️

Historia
Peter Diamond is tasked to run security for a wedding. Seems a bit beneath his extraordinary detective talents, as well as his title as head of Bath's CID, but this isn't your run-of-the-mill ceremony: the bride and groom belong to families on opposite ends of the law - and someone is trying to sabotage the nuptials by taking out a hit on the father of the bride.

Is light and easy reading, with a touch of fun.

Historia
Luisa "Lu" Brant is the newly elected - and first female - state's attorney of Howard County, Maryland, a job in which her widower father famously served. Fiercely intelligent and ambitious, she sees an opportunity to make her name by trying a mentally disturbed drifter accused of beating a woman to death in her home. It's not the kind of case that makes headlines, but peaceful Howard County doesn't see many homicides.

Very Lippmann

It is a nice Lippmann Style book. Lots of twist, but a good arch for most characters.
The mix of the two readers was not always smooth. I would have prefer only one.

Delicious familiar place
Revisado: 11-13-22
It’s always a pleasure when a new Scarpeta novel arrives. As usual they don’t disappoint.
Even though the rhythm, the peak and the resolution are familiar, it always great to find them again. As I have read them all, but not always on order, last year I went back and listened to all of them from beginning to end. I have been waiting for the next adventure for months now. I always have appreciated how the new technologies and current scientific ideas are part of the stories, but lately the happenings and news also make them into the book, giving a more realistic approach. That makes it even more relatable right now.
I hope we keep getting more Scarpeta, nut now I am also waiting for the next installment of her new series too.

Historia
For the men of Madison Avenue, the battle between soft-drink giants Cherr-o-key and AmeriCherry seems heaven-sent. For years now, the firm of Mills/Lake/Ryman has fought to help Cherr-o-key become the nation’s favorite fizzy cherry soda, but each time they come up with a new slogan, mascot, or jingle, AmeriCherry somehow beats them to it. There’s a mole inside the agency, and only Nero Wolfe can ferret him out.

Good example of Nero Wolfe
Revisado: 08-02-22
I was a little apprehensive to start reading Nero Wolfe by someone else other than Rex Stout. I am glad that Goldsborough did a great job and that the Rex Stout state chose him to continue his legacy. The idea of bringing Nero Wolfe 30 years into the future, was also daring. I suppose that we are already far enough from the 80’s to see it as a classic piece too.
He can deliver the same soul of any Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin story. The use of specific vocabulary typical to Wolfe and Archie, and the idea of bring back the same banter and relationship with all the other peripheral characters was right to the point.
This may not be my favorite Nero Wolfe story from Goldsborough, but it’s pretty good and fateful to the brand. I am looking forward to more Nero Wolfe.

I love that Scarpeta is back
Revisado: 01-04-22
The narrator was bad, but after the second chapter got better. Her voice inflection was the same monotonous slow inanimate voice for every character, or narrator part, which makes it complicated. But again, it gets better. I would reconnect to play it faster than 1.3 to make it bárranle.
The story is as awesome like any other Scarpetta book. It’s bad that Lucy is an eternal victim of circumstances, over and over. I love how Kay always moves at the top spheres, but keeps her feet very well grounded.
Looking forward to more books from Cornwell.
