Male/female voice please

Great story - virtual voice is ok - difficult to discern who’s speaking. Maybe have a male and female virtual voice to make it easier to determine.

Several words spelled the same but pronounced differently aren’t distinguished by virtual voice.

I still prefer audiobooks and am happy to know the Parkers are doing audio books in any format.

Terrible Narration

Couldn’t listen more than 15 minutes. Male narrator just a bit more tolerable than the female. Also premise of story was stupid.

Great Story, Narration Iffy

I loved the story, the mystery content, the humor and the romance.

The narration, however, wasn't top shelf in my estimation. The female narrator mispronounced a couple of words repetitively that just grated on my nerves - birthday (pronounced birPHday) and secretary (pronounced seCEtary NO R). There were several other minor mispronunciations, but these two were really irritating. The male narrator uses a breathy, whisper in your ear tone throughout the book; that's fine in appropriate situations, but I didn't like it for the entire reading.

Second Chance Romance

Cute story - female lead was very insecure due to prior bad relationship.

Narration was okay, but it would have been much better with dual narrators.

Better than The Texan, but still has production and editing errors. Even though I enjoyed the stories, this is probably the last Joan Johnston audio book I’ll waste money on due to quality.

Worst editing ever

Of all the hundreds of audiobooks I’ve listened to this is one of the 2 worst. Although The author did a good job of writing the noon, she should have someone else narrate and definitely a different production and editing team. Not sure I can listen to more books like this one.

Good story, terrible narrator

Loved the whole series even with the predictable storylines.

This narrator was terrible - that whiny voice almost made me return it without finishing. Her performance of Dillon was especially annoying. I listened to it at 1.25x and can’t imagine how grating it would be at regular speed.

Grammar - terminology?!

I’m not sure if there is such a thing as a double broiler, however I’m positive it would never be used to melt chocolate. It’s a “double boiler” - whether it’s in the written word or the narration, it’s distracting every time it’s said. If writing a story about a chocolatier it would be prudent to ensure proper terminology is used. Cute story other than that.

Worth Listening to Twice

I enjoyed Wyatt's Bounty so much it was worth a second listen. Suspense, romance and a look at the brutality of the settlement of the wild West are all included in this book. Wyatt and Tess's story brought a tear to my eye more than once but so engaging that I wanted to continue listening even when I should be concentrating on other tasks. One thing that stood out for me was the referral to "suffering a soldier's heart", which equates to what we currently refer to as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Dawson MBride's voice adds a degree of realism to this historical western reading. Kim Turner is an extraordinary wordsmith and I can't wait for the next book in the McCade saga.

Author not narrator!

Terrible narration - not good in any book she’s narrated, but ridiculously bad in this segment. Her voice is pleasant, however sooooo many mispronunciations throughout her readings. In regency England the ton is not pronounced like a measure of 2000 pounds. Numerous other words sounded as if she were trying unsuccessfully to replicate the speech of the time. This segment would be at least an hour less if she didn’t stop and and reread a portion of every few sentences. Can hear her click the recorder off and on with lots of background noise. If I didn’t want to hear the conclusion I’d have returned unread.
