Don't waste a credit on this book. Should've looked at how long it was. Was over before she went into much.
Mo'Nique does a fantastic job with the delivery.
As for the "story." There wasn't much. A few scenarios, but she brushes through them like a comedy sketch more than written out with thought and reflection. I was obese for most of my life and thought I could relate to a funny book about loving yourself. I really thought the title was poking fun at the idea of hating others because of their size. But nope, just a book about actually hating women who are smaller than she is. This book just seemed filled with bitterness that didn't come across as funny. Just came across as ignorant and insecure. She clearly doesn't look past her own lifestyle. And seems to have a very close minded opinion, which is ironic with her book title. Goes as far as to encourage name calling. Just seemed very immature.

Historia
With two out of every three Americans overweight or obese, scientists are studying how excess fat changes physical and mental health, demographers are calculating how it's shortening life spans, and economists are debating the impact it has on America's productivity and global competitiveness. But how weight affects intimacy and sexuality is barely discussed. Yet, it's a question of high importance for the tens of millions of Americans who are overweight or obese and having difficulty sexually and romantically.

So being someone who used to be borderline morbidly obese and having lost 100 lbs through diet and exercise over a period of five years, I am so glad I did not read this book when I was at my heaviest. Not that it would've been worse of a book but I probably would've cried halfway through. There is a lot of truth in this book especially when it comes to relationships because I felt like I was reading my own history of relationships. Or lack there of in high school and college. It almost seems like a blunt truth that's hard to swallow and even I had a hard trouble hearing some of the things said in the book because it hit a little too close to home. I'm glad I read this and it further makes me feel better about getting healthier. Great read!
