It ended in the middle

This book had so much potential! The main voice actors were good, but some of the supporting actors were lacking. Very suspenseful, many twists and turns but the ending was unfulfilling at best. I hate leaving negative reviews but I’m left with no choice here. I feel cheated out of a proper ending.

Historical reference for an unbelievable story

The story was amazing- albeit a bit slow. Without all of the details an accurate picture cannot be made. However those details are many. Seeing that I could not skip ahead without skipping valuable insight and the written tapestry depicting the era- I decided on playing the book at 1.3x and that did the trick. Alas I am a product of the modern era reading about an era where time moved much more slowly. It’s not the books fault- the fault was mine. In short- this book should be required reading for any historian educating themselves on this period. Very well done!

Tina fey is a gift!

This book was very well done! Her story went at a great cadence- not too fast or too slow. Her depth of character really shown through so she didn’t sound like AI or over indulgent. Not all funny people can write a good, or great book- but Tina can! As much as I loved Tina before- it is hard to not love her even more when listening. I would venture to say… I would be deeply suspicious of anyone who didn’t like TF essentially if they read/listen to this book. Well written, well narrated, well mediated timelines, well done!

The voice actors were outstanding!

I liked everything about this audio book. However the thing I liked the best was the voice actors. The story was great, and very unpredictable. The voice actors were spot on! The sound editing was also outstanding! Great listen.

The format of this book was perfect!

Aside from the story and reading being outstanding, the format made this great story- perfect. I don’t want to ruin the surprise… but I will say it is easy to follow. Flashbacks are followed by explanations in that order. I highly recommend this story!

Great ending!

The book was a bit slow in the first 1/3. The middle 1/3 picked up the pace. The final 1/3 was amazing! And the pieces came together beautifully and full of surprises!

Love and strength

Wonderfully narrated! Such a moving story. Highly recommend this book of love and hardship. Without hope we have nothing.

Big fan of SK- but this was not good

It is hard for me to rate this because I am a huge fan of SK. It was also hard because the narration was so terrible that I had a hard time rating the story separately than the narration. I have almost 500 audible books and this was by far the worst narration! Between the monotone, and the miss pronounced everyday words- and not being able to decipher one character from the next, I had trouble finding the story underneath. I’m sorry SK. It’s m still a fan- just not of this!
