I usually like Seth godin's books but this one has not aged well and has very dated references that I feel distract from the overall message. would not recommend.

I took so many notes throughout this book! I need to go back and reread most chapters because they were so dense with great advice.

The pressure to generate big ideas can feel overwhelming. We know that bold innovations are critical in these disruptive and competitive times, but when it comes to breakthrough thinking, we often freeze up. Instead of shooting for a $10-billion payday or a Nobel Prize, the most prolific innovators focus on Big Little Breakthroughs - small creative acts that unlock massive rewards over time. By cultivating daily micro-innovations, individuals and organizations are better equipped to tackle tough challenges and seize transformational opportunities.

Not Bad But Not Great
Revisado: 07-08-21
There are nuggets of helpful information throughout this book but it lacks consistency and polish. At times the author talks about his own best practices and at others he focuses on the work of other people. The most obvious area for improvement, in my opinion, is the final audio production. There are several times where the narrator gets cutoff, mid-sentence, only to start the sentence over. I don't think the final recording went through a very rigorous proofing process, which makes the final version somewhat distracting at times.

Hardcopy Might Be Better
Revisado: 08-02-20
Overall it was a helpful book but there were a lot of multiple choice questions throughout this book which made it difficult to follow along and know what type of manager you are. It might be easier to understand these parts of the book if someone reads the hard copy.

I learned of, and was reminded of, several helpful practices and approaches for communicating effectively. However, I found myself skipping several areas as they seemed overly wordy and not as "to the point" as others.

Get ready to find some things you never expected to find in a book about wine. Things like regrets, migrant labor, war, financial crises, and post-apartheid economics. Things, too, like following a calling, doing something even though it makes no sense, and creating the life you imagine for yourself. For the people you'll meet in these 12 chapters, wine does so much more than quench thirst. Wine is how they express themselves to the world. It's how they put food on the table for their families.

This book is beautifully written. The author takes you beyond wine itself and explores the real world stories behind every vintage. The descriptive language throughout this book is so rich that you'll want to read it again and again as you continue to savor its contents in new ways.

Historia
We've all had experiences with two dramatically different types of leaders. The first type drain intelligence, energy, and capability from the people around them and always need to be the smartest people in the room. These are the idea killers, the energy sappers, the diminishers of talent and commitment. On the other side of the spectrum are leaders who use their intelligence to amplify the smarts and capabilities of the people around them.

Much Longer Than Necessary
Revisado: 10-09-18
This book has some good principles, however, it often belabors the point which makes the book much longer than it needs to be. Also, several of the points are elementary and, in my opinion, don't add value. I would say approximately 70% of this book is quality content, the rest is fluff.
