Pushy with the message
Revisado: 04-19-20
The plot in a category of court room drama you would think would deal with court room drama. This plot did not.
I did not care for the “religion study or the Push for Jesus. A court room drama in my opinion is not the place.
Particularly bored with in in depth study of code interpretation and understanding. That was just boring!!
What plot existence was worth about an hour. So if you’re are interested in a small plot and religious and study of codes, this would be your book.

Boringly boring
Revisado: 03-25-20
I tried to listen. I tried while driving, sitting in my favorite chair, even while trying to sleep. I started over several times and never determined what the plot was. Finally I quit because if you have to invest that much time and effort and you still didn’t know what the plot was you could say it was indeed boring

Historia
When two men meet in the Virginia state penitentiary in a maximum security visitation room on May 5, 1968, they have only one thing in common: they both want their lives back. On one side of a glass divider sits Kenneth Deatherage, who was sentenced to death for the brutal rape and murder of a young woman. The jury agreed with the prosecutor's closing argument: that all evidence points to Deatherage as the killer. But Deatherage says the evidence was fabricated.

Farce
Revisado: 12-08-19
The narrator has an extremely monotone put you to sleep voice and I wasn't able to get past the first 30 minutes. Decided I would try audible book again. Not only was the narrator poor but so was the novel. As a professional reader he had a whistling sound on the sh sounds. When he said “sure”, he pronounced it “shore” and with all words ending in sh sounds, it becomes irritating. Example , Mike was sure to be angry and reader said Mike was SHORE to be angry. My other peeve is the word get. The narrator said GIT, ie, git the book making him sound not like a professional reader but someone from deep east Texas. The main male character Bennie presents someone who is extremely inept, low esteem, pathetically naive and had no talent as an attorney and this novel was supposed to be a courtroom drama. He seemed to have sex with all his female friends, out of pity, it had to be. He would become irritated because he new absolutely nothing about law and would spice the novel with his "Damn" and it wasn't one syllable, it was 4 but that had to be attributed to the narrator. I would vasalate between anger, crying, it was so bad or laughing because it couldn't become any worse but it did. Unless you need to cry or become angry don't audable this poorly written novel and poorly narrated

Historia
When we seek an example of great leaders with unalloyed courage, the person who comes to mind is Winston Churchill: the iconic, visionary war leader immune from the consensus of the day, who stood firmly for his beliefs when everyone doubted him. But how did young Winston become Churchill? What gave him the strength to take on the superior force of Nazi Germany when bombs rained on London and so many others had caved? In this landmark biography of Winston Churchill based on extensive new material, the true genius of the man, statesman, and leader can finally be fully understood.

I have found another to read author. The narrator was superb. A voice for every character and dramatic in a sincere way.
The plot was feasible as was the story and ending # 1 was good and then a surprise.
Will be looking forward to subsequent novels

where was the courtroom drama?
Revisado: 09-16-19
I wanted to listen because it was under the category of courtroom drama. It was entirely dialogue and this meant an "actor" as the narrator should be an actor. Not so with "The Hallows". There was a lot of dialogue but no courtroom drama.

Decided I was going to write a beginning review. First audible book that was excellent from the beginning. The narrator had an excellent voice and the characters presented vocally were very good. Would listen to another audio book w/ this narrator. Beginning story line very compelling and can’t wait for the rest of the book.
