Intriguing storyline
Revisado: 04-28-24
Such a different approach to historical romantic fiction. I loved the storyline and was happy to follow. Unfortunately the performance by the narrator was so stilted and cold it just killed the story. Such a waste!

Historia
Hannah West and Elias Coppersmith have no regrets about their impulsive wedding since they can't remember it. All either can remember is that they were on the run. With Hannah's dubious background and shaky para-psych profile, she could have done much worse. The competent mining heir arouses her curiosity - as well as other parts of her mind and body. A honeymoon spent retracing their footsteps leads them into the twisting underground catacombs, where secrets from both their pasts will come to light.

Kept intrigued all the way through!!
Revisado: 10-22-23
I loved the story! It was definitely different and did a superb job encompassing all of the other families and characters into the storyline. HOWEVER the narrator's performance killed me! If it wasn't for the fact that I knew Jayne Castle did a fabulous storyline I would have ditched the story altogether.
Barbara Rosenblat, the narrator, was the most horrible of choices made for this storyline. The performance was dreadful from the sound effects to the non clean-up of the reading performance. In addition her voice was too old for the character's and she kept swallowing very loudly and frequently in the middle of the sentence or at the end of the sentence in the most inappropriate places. It was distracting and annoying.
I don't normally speak negatively about a performance but a narrator can kill a sale. Better to walk in knowing what to expect.

Historia
After being dumped by his long-term boyfriend for being overweight, Henry Beckett decides to make some drastic changes. In a vain attempt at getting his boyfriend back, Henry does the most absurdly frightening thing he can think of. He joins a gym. Reed Henske is a personal trainer who isn't sure he'll ever be ready to date again. He's sick of guys who are only interested in the perfect body image, never seeing him for who he really is. As Reed tortures Henry with things like diet and exercise, Henry enamors Reed with recipes and laughter.

I Loved It!!
Revisado: 03-21-19
It is by far my most memorable Audible. Mr. Leslie killed it! His touch of grace and humor left me giggling and laughing out loud at thecmost inappropriate of times over something Henry said to Reiid. The story was too sweet and the message of acceptance was very clear! Walker and Leslie are a devilish pair, and this story was made all the enjoyable through his narration and her sense of humor. My WORD Henry was hilarious!
