After being dumped by his long-term boyfriend for being overweight, Henry Beckett decides to make some drastic changes. In a vain attempt at getting his boyfriend back, Henry does the most absurdly frightening thing he can think of.

He joins a gym.

Reed Henske is a personal trainer who isn't sure he'll ever be ready to date again. He's sick of guys who are only interested in the perfect body image, never seeing him for who he really is.

As Reed tortures Henry with things like diet and exercise, Henry enamors Reed with recipes and laughter. As the friendship lines start to blur, Henry is convinced there's no way Thor-like Reed could ever be interested in a guy like him.

Reed just has to convince Henry that life isn't about reaching your ideal bodyweight. It's about finding your perfect counterweight.

This is a wonderful, laugh-out-loud hilarious book. An MM love story that will charm and delight, and also deals with body image issues in an honest and realistic manner. The lead, Henry, is wonderfully funny...I laughed constantly, and I mean belly laughs. I loved him from the first sentence, and fell harder and deeper as the story progressed. The love interest is a hottie with hidden depths, and I loved him, too. The best friend is also funny, compassionate, and wise. If you want a laugh, a little heartbreak, and more than a little honesty about body image issues....here's your book!!! Loved it, loved it, loved it!!

The Weight of It All is one of my favorite audio books. I thought the story was good when I read it, but Joel Leslie really brought it to life.

Henry is my favorite. He resonates with me in a lot of ways.

Henry, of course. Joel Leslie's portrayal of Henry was spot on. He made me laugh so hard. #PrayforHenry

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could have listened in one sitting, but I would have got nothing done because I was so enchanted by Joel's performance.

I just adored the ebook of this story and had to grab the audiobook, too! This is definitely one I'll listen to over and over again. Henry is just the best! His story is so sweet and fun and inspiring.

This is one of my favorite audiobooks and my go-to listen when I need a pick-me-up. Henry is hilarious and I love Joel Leslie's voice! He is an amazing narrator and The Weight of It All is one of my favorite NR Walker books. Poor Henry joins a gym after his ex-boyfriend of 8 years leaves him. He meets his new personal trainer, Reed, who is hot, attractive, and built like a fridge. Henry calls him the Kelvinator and from that point on, Reed whips Henry into shape from meal planning, cutting out fatty foods (carbs and cheesecake), and working out more. Henry and Reed strike up a friendship and exchange recipes and laughter. As their friendship takes on more intense feelings and attraction between moth men, Henry is convinced that Reed would never be attracted to an overweight guy like him. Reed works his magic and convinces Henry that life isn't about finding your ideal weight and shape. It's about finding the perfect counterweight and that's what Reed is. He balances Henry's life out and makes it so much better. I absolute loved this audiobook and Henry and Reed are one of my favorite couples from NR Walker's world :)

Read this years ago and loved it. Just listened to the audio, narrated by Joel Leslie and it was exceptional! What a absolutely wonderful story of learning to love yourself while you fall in love with that someone special that loves you for the person you are on the inside! It was funny, sweet, heartwarming, touching and just so very enjoyable. Joel Leslie just brings Reed and Henry to life and brought this fabulous book by NR Walker to the next level. Enjoyed every bit of it!

I laughed and cried and laughed and cried so many times throughout the book..

I was hesitant to start this book, because I wrestled with body image issues for years.. but when I reached halfway mark, I regret that I didn’t read this a long time ago..

as usual, Joel Leslie performance is impeccable..

You can never go wrong with a super duo like N.R. Walker and Joel Leslie. Honestly, this book is supportive, sensitive and inspires change and new outlooks on life. I adore Henry and Reed and their blossoming relationship. N.R. Walker has a brilliant way of making her characters fall sweetly in love with each other, despite their flaws, histories and current struggles. Kudos for not making the ex boyfriend the "villian" of the story, like so many romance books do. No, this beautiful story is about fighting one's own demons and how they can affect the people around you, closest to you and to your heart. Five stars, hands down. Amazing read through by Joel Leslie. He really gives the characters life and voice and I don't know where I'd be in my reading journey without him. Definitely give this story a read. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
