The ending was a bit incomplete. It left a main character in absolute distress. Obviously leading to the next book.

a Fracken fun read
Revisado: 05-18-20
I'm not sure what happened. this was a fun PG series until the last half of this book. then all of a sudden "f" bombs we're everywhere. Throughout the series even the battle scenes frack was the word used. I just found that unnecessary.

Historia
In a not-too-distant future that is not quite ours, there has been a major scientific breakthrough. It is a way to open windows into the past, permitting historical researchers to view, but not participate, in the events of the past.
In one of the most powerful and thought-provoking novels of his remarkable career, Orson Scott Card interweaves a compelling portrait of Christopher Columbus with the story of a future scientist who believes she can alter human history from a tragedy of bloodshed and brutality to a world filled with hope and healing.

Historia
Two blood-spattered strangers awake, locked in the trunk of a car - with a murdered cop and the smoking gun. Aside from raging headaches and no idea what's happened, they appear to have nothing in common. Troy thinks it's 2001 and he's still a combat surgeon fighting terrorists in Afghanistan. Emmy believes it's 2002 and she's still grifting a living from the streets of L.A.

Confusing start but worth continuing
Revisado: 07-08-16
Where does Flash rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I'm an avid listener of audio books. I found this story hard to get into with so much confusion it it at the beginning. which I'm sure was the authors design. However once into the story I found the characters endearing and it became a fun listen.
Who was your favorite character and why?

Too "F'en" many "F'en" "F" words
Revisado: 10-29-15
Would you try another book from John Ringo and/or Dan John Miller?
I have and liked His Kaldar series and the Wands series
What other book might you compare The Last Centurion to and why?
The story could be a Robin Cook story without the obsessive "F-inks"
What didn’t you like about Dan John Miller’s performance?
He certainly can say F***
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The story was fun just the language put me off
Any additional comments?
I'm probably in the minority being offended by the language but John Ringo can wright well and without being offensive the wand series is a great example.

Historia
The Goldfinch is a haunted odyssey through present-day America and a drama of enthralling force and acuity. It begins with a boy. Theo Decker, a 13-year-old New Yorker, miraculously survives an accident that kills his mother. Abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. Bewildered by his strange new home on Park Avenue, disturbed by schoolmates who don't know how to talk to him, and tormented above all by his unbearable longing for his mother, he clings to one thing that reminds him of her: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the underworld of art.

Overall this story is very depressing.
Revisado: 02-21-15
What did you like best about The Goldfinch? What did you like least?
I liked that Theo does find some redemption.I don’t like that he never did seem to recognize the full value of his life. It was a good surprise that Boris helped him see his value.
What did you like best about this story?
The last two hours are the best part of this story. It was a very long and depressing story to get there.
What about David Pittu’s performance did you like?
David Pittu’s was excellent in letting you picture each character and their personalities.
Do you think The Goldfinch needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
A follow up book would be good to show how Theo gets his life straightened up.But I wouldn’t want to listen to 30 more hours of his droning addictive life.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
The ending was disappointing. Left me with a “What, that’s it?" kind of feeling.
Would you recommend Nineteen Minutes to your friends? Why or why not?
It does have some good insights into bullies and those who are bullied. The high school experience rings to close to home. It could help teenagers recognize that what they say and do effects those around them. Which could come back to haunt them in unexpected ways.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I always have enjoyed Vince Flynn I have downloaded and listened to all of them. this was one I downloaded in abridged format so I bought the unabridged version. there is a lot more to the story. However I must say I would hate to think the plot line was accepted as a plausible reality. Killing politicians to overthrow the government? sounds like a dictatorial plot to me. This was a fun book to listen to just don't get to serious about the plot. I like science fiction with implausible plots too. I just don't take them too seriously.
Would you be willing to try another book from Vince Flynn? Why or why not?
I have all i can get from Audible
