Eric’s methodical reading drives the points home so much so that unless you’re careful and without conscience you will become convicted and commit to do something about what is happening in our world today. That’s a good thing.

At various times "reading" this book, I cried, I wailed, I shook my head, I prayed to God. How can this happen?

How can a government become so incompetent that they let this man continue in this manner for so many years? How can a woman, rich or poor, become so callus as to allow a living baby inside her to be ripped from her body?

There was evil in that clinic at 3801 Lancaster.

Extremely enlightening - essential reading for bible study enthusiasts

The book was narrated at listening to speed and well done, however, when David Cochrane Heath referred to the various scriptural references making comparisons from the OT to fulfillment of same in the NT, it was extremely difficult to make note of them on paper. I had to play it again several times in order to write down the references. This, of course, is extremely important to audible listeners, especially if they want to keep the references at hand.

I didn't know that.

Erik Larson's books are so thoroughly researched. I learned a great deal more about the events of the sinking of the Lusitania; little known facts not in any history books. The passenger's stories leading up to, during the voyage and after the tragedy painted a riveting picture; there's always a personal element to every historical event. Scott Brick's portrayal of the little dramas as well as the larger more heart wrenching dramas helped "place" me on Lusitania during those times. I found myself asking how I would have reacted. A wonderful read!
And to answer another reviewer's question about Wilson's love life. I think it added another bullet point to the "I didn't know that" category.

If you're looking for WONDERFUL things to hear about Barack Obama, this is not necessarily the book to read. Conversely, if you're looking for NASTY things to hear about Barack Obama, this is not necessary the book to read. What you will find is a very fair and extensive biographical account. No one could accuse David Maraniss of taking "sides". He has compiled a thorough story of Obama's life and it is for the reader to sift through his descriptions to come to your own conclusions about why Barack Obama is who he is. Is it nurture or nature.
