Acerca de esta escucha

Gosnell is the untold story of America's most prolific serial killer. In 2013, Dr. Kermit Gosnell was convicted of killing four people, including three babies, but is thought to have killed hundreds, perhaps thousands more in a 30-year killing spree. ABC News correspondent Terry Moran described Gosnell as "America's most prolific serial killer". Gosnell is currently serving three life sentences (without the possibility of parole) for murdering babies and patients at his "House of Horrors" abortion clinic.

This book - and now a major movie starring Dean Cain (Lois & Clarke) - reveals how the investigation that brought Gosnell to justice started as a routine drugs investigation and turned into a shocking unmasking of America's biggest serial killer. It details how compliant politicians and bureaucrats allowed Dr. Gosnell to carry out his grisly trade because they didn't want to be accused of "attacking abortion". Gosnell also exposes the media cover-up that saw reporters refusing to cover a story that shone an unwelcome spotlight on abortion in America in the 21st century. Gosnell is an astounding piece of investigative journalism revealing a cover-up among the medical political and media establishments that allowed a killer to go undetected for decades.

I don't think there has been a word created yet that adequately described the rage this book invokes. I am not a pro-lifer per se, nor am I religious (atheist. in fact)...but you'd have to be made of stone for this book not to affect you.

Best listened to on an empty stomach.

The tale of Kermit Gosnell is not unique. Those of us that have followed issues of human dignity and value human life know there are many other Kermit Gosnells out there. But for brining this story to light, I am eternally grateful to Ann and Phelim.
I have not read a story about a serial killer before. I thought, how could you write 11 hours worth of material. But the story here is complete and answers so many questions from so many angles I realized something - thank God I didn't have to filter through the countless hours of information that Ann and Phelim had to to produce such a clear and concise presentation.
I am hopeful that he associates movie will be well received. And I am hopeful that shedding light on these dark subjects will bring this nation to repentance over the horror of abortion. Let

This story is absolutely captivating. I couldn’t stop listening to it. I have definitely heard better readers, however. I did not care for the reader whatsoever.

Poor reader but an excellent story

Where does Gosnell rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book is so gripping, once I started I could not stop listening. Ann McElhinney's narration -- and her personal investment in the Gosnell investigation and trial -- makes the book even more compelling.

What other book might you compare Gosnell to and why?

While it is similar to other books about serial killers, this book is different because it sheds light on a trial that was barely noticed by the American media at the time.

Which scene was your favorite?

Ann's descriptions of the Philly cops who unraveled the Gosnell murder clinic.

Any additional comments?

Whether you are pro-choice or pro-life, you need to listen to this book. Nothing in American discourse on abortion policy will change unless people have all the facts to consider. The journalists who wrote this book are on the record as saying they were pro-choice and non-religious -- it is a truly objective perspective.

Incredible true -- and underreported -- story

I was in shock that this case didn't get more attention. Whether you're pro choice or pro life, this case will leave you speechless.

How did I not know about this case?

Difficult to hear at times because of the gruesome nature, but it is an important book that everyone needs to hear. Let us learn from history. This brutality must come to an end!

I saw the movie at a sneak peek viewing in South Dakota and was amazed at the quality, content and professionalism of the movie. Truly a must see when it comes out in the spring!!!Purchased the book at the movie viewing and downloaded it as well. The book is powerful, eye opening, intriguing and most of all, disturbing that on so many levels this sick man, so-called "Doctor", was able to continue his killing spree for so many years with out oversight or reporting by so many people and government agencies. The system failed to protect the women seeking abortions, and the babies were treated inhumanly and with no respect. People failed to admit that what was going on at 3801 Lancaster Avenue was not only against many laws but morally repugnant!! Get your hands on this book now! Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer are so talented . Ann tells this gruesome story with the emotion and first hand knowledge of what happened. That makes it even more intriguing. You don't want to stop listening once you start. Read it and tell others to do the same!

Gosnell book a must read!!!

I have always viewed abortion as murder but the disrespect and cold nature that I'm sure many abortionist have for the lives of these innocent babies makes it more appalling to me . Loved the narrator!

Sad but eye opening

At various times "reading" this book, I cried, I wailed, I shook my head, I prayed to God. How can this happen?

How can a government become so incompetent that they let this man continue in this manner for so many years? How can a woman, rich or poor, become so callus as to allow a living baby inside her to be ripped from her body?

There was evil in that clinic at 3801 Lancaster.
